Chapter 17 Cold & Unwanted

Jaden let out a pained cry as he was painfully dropped onto the pavement of an unknown street hurting his shoulder.
Yubel was unharmed due to being protected in Jaden's embrace.

Groaning from the pain Jaden sat up with the kid still in his arms.

A panic adrenaline flooded Jaden stumbled up to his feet pulling Yubel up with him.

The rain was pouring heavily round the two. As the pair raced down the street. Dashing and dodging past several people making their way to their destination.

Jaden dragged Yubel into an allyway closest to him while constantly looking about for any signs of danger.

Jaden spotted a large abandoned box laying open near several trash cans.
Not having any money on them nor a place to stay.
Jaden ushered Yubel inside. With him climbing in after.

It was a tight squeeze but rather cozy. The two of them soaked huddled closer together for warmth. Soon enough they both drifted off to sleep.

"You have got to be kidding me...."

Jaden opened his eyes to see a familiar face standing outside their little box house.

Jaden groaned rubbing the crap from his eyes.

"Aster...?."

Aster stared down at the Brunette in disgust as he climbed out of the box looking like a drenched cat.

"You look disgusting."

Jaden laughed nervously scratching the back of his head.
As he recalled the two of them never really had the best of friendship relationship but still tried his best for the pair to get along.

"Meow!"

Jaden looked down at Aster's feet spotting an old furry friend sitting by his feet with the handles of a plastic bag in it's mouth.

"Ah! Hey pal!." Jaden laughed crouching down to pet the furry kitty.

With an eye roll, Aster crossed his arms.

"So what happened, you're little ghoul friends find out what you've been up to?."

Jaden blinked at him confused.

"What.?"

Aster sighed thinking back on the night;

Jaden picked up one of the papers from the floor.
Aster's movements paused as a lone paper was dangling infront of his face.

It was the same photo of Jaden Yuki that he had been looking at earlier except this one was just a spare print out that he so happened to have spare on his desk.

"Who sent these...?" Judal growled while crumpling the paper between his fingers.

Aster took the paper from his grasp before he could do any more damage to it.

"Why are you so ticked off about this? It's your so called best friends that keep sending me this crap!."

Judal's shoulders dipped alittle.

"I see..." he breathed in s less lively sigh.

"Anyway Jaden Yuki, get to the point. What ate you doing here and what do you want with me."

Judai regained his composure. Pushing the faint memories of his friends to the further depths of his mind.

"I came here Aster, because I have a problem and you're going to help me fix it."

Aster tilted his head in confusion.

"And that help would be...?"

"Something strange is going on...my team seem to be up to something behind my back and."

Judai pointed to the side of his head.

"That brat is back."

Aster frawned picking up the last of the messed up papers.

"Brat? What do you mean Brat?."

Judai took a few to explain everything that had happened in the past with the kid and his dumb past self Jaden Yuki.

Aster sarcastically laughed at him.

"You're seriously? The now big bad Jaden Yuki has a demon kid spirit in him that he can't control."

Judai only shrugged his shoulders.

"I had thought I had completely erased all of what was left of the brat."

"But somehow he's conscious again and I need a way to be rid of him before he tries to take control again."

Aster glared at him.

"And what exactly do you need me for anyhow?."

"I don't have any sort of power to stop the kid even of I wanted to."

Judai nodded. Taking a seat back on Aster's desk.

"True, but if something were to happen. I need someone to take care of the brat so no one takes what is fine." He growled the last part through his teeth.

"So basically watch out for the kid?"

Suddenly Judai grabbed Aster by his shirt pulling him in close.
Faces inches from each other.

"I gave them power!." He snarled viciously.

"If either one of them learns that I can't keep the power contained. If I can't lead them to the promise land I promised them!."

He yelled into the face of a frightened Aster.

"So swear to me! That you'll protect them!."

When Aster didn't answer he snapped at him again.

"SWEAR IT!."

Back to reality....

Aster took the bag from the cat and handed it to Jaden.

"Got some gear in it for you and something for the little one too."

Jaden thanked him taking the bag and hanging it from his arm.

"Now hurry up and follow me." Said Aster turning his back to them.
Jaden carefully scooped up the sleeping child in his arms and followed after Aster with his kitty cat close at his side.

Back within a secret location within the shadow realm the sounds of smashing and shouting could be heard the room.

Judai's followers were summoned to  a secret location to a dark black/purple room. Sat in the centre of it was a single large like coffin case made solid hard glass kept a body of a person unknown in a death like slumber slept within the shadows of said room.

Zane stood next to the coffin placing a single hand onto the glass.

"My friends...of many of you already know now. We have a problem."
"Our Lord has vanished with the devil child and our vessel here, isn't able to function until his return."

"If you all still pray for our wishes to come to reality."

He dug his nails into the coffin cracking the glass a little.

"Than bring me back the child." .
