"You were right Mr Schue she'd massacre Mariah in a diva-off" Kurt told him
"April is amazing but she's not in the glee club anymore" Mr Schue said and Enzo wasn't shocked, he was pretty sure she'd slept with puck, lets hope she's not pregnant "I uh I screwed up bringing her here, it was about me and glee club suppose to be about you guys, you don't need her to be great"
"But we need her for the second act" Mercedes spoke and she wasn't wrong, she was the lead they cant just not have a lead
"I'll just tell them we have to cut the show short, guys you were great" he tells the group noticing they're defeated faces "don't worry they're will be other performances"
"Excuse me" Rachel said walking into the room making Enzo groan "I think I might have a solution in show business when a star cant perform, her understudy steps in"

"I'd be happy to go on for April" Rachel spoke choosing to ignore Enzo's comment

"Please sectionals is going to be a breeze" Mercedes told him
"Maybe so but if we coast through sectionals were going to get killed at regionals we have got to be on our game" Mr Schue said stopping when Kurt started spontaneously laughing

"Great news guys got the competition bracket for sectionals" Mr Schue said spinning Brittney "and we are in really good shape there's only two other teams if we beat them we make it to regionals" the team high fives each other
"Who are the other teams" Alessandra asked standing with the other cheerio's
"Drumroll, please, Finn" Mr Schue says
"School for the deaf in Dayton and some place called Jane Addams academy"
"Jane Addams? that's a halfway house for girls just getting out of juvie" Mercedes tells the group

"Competition" Mr Schue said in the choir room before moving to the board "every one of these people or elements was a champion in their own right but they used competing with each other to make themselves even better"
"I don't understand what lighting is in competition with an above ground swimming pool" Kurt spoke
"Or a bear with the white guys" Enzo added
"Just go with it" Mr Schue said waving them off "you guys have become complacent, you were great at the invitational, but you got to up your game if you want to get through sectionals, okay split up, guys on the left side, girls on the right, lets go come on" the guys and girls split up Kurt trying to go with the girls "all right, uh Kurt?" making Kurt move back towards the boys "here's the deal, two teams boys versus girls one week from today you will each perform a mash-up of your choice"
"What's a mash-up?" puck asked
"A mash-up is when you take two songs and mash them together to make an even richer explosion of musical expression boys will perform on Tuesday girls the next day" Mr Schue explained making weird hand signs "I want you guys to go all out, okay? costumes, choreography whoever wins the competition gets to choose the number that we do for sectionals"
"Wait, who's going to be the judge?" Rachel asked "your gender makes you biased"
"Ah, there is going to be a celebrity judge"
"Who" Tina asked but to Enzo it was pretty clear it was just going to be Mrs Pillsbury, Mr Schue doesn't know any celebrities

"We got this in the bag" Mercedes tells the girls
"Totally I'm going to start storyboarding our choreography" Rachel said walking out of the choir room with the girls
"Hey hope you guys are up for this competition" Mr Schue spoke to the boys "the girls look pretty pumped"
