"Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?" The Doctor asked the pirates, who had their guns pointed at them. Lillian still wasn't sure why the Doctor decided to respond to the pirates distress signal, and after the four were taken to the captains room, he said, "We didn't send a signal."
"Our sensors picked you up. Ship in distress." The Doctor answered.
"Sensors?" The Captain asked.
"Yes.
"OK. Problem word. Seventeenth century. My ship automatically, er...noticed-ish... that your ship was having some bother." The Doctor tried to explain to the pirates.
"That big blue crate!?" The Captain asked.
"This is more magic, Captain Avery. They're spirits. How else would they have found their way below decks?" A pirate told the Captain.
"We're not spirits, or ghosts. We ended up below deck through... magic." Lillian said.
"Magic!?" Captain Avery yelled.
"Well, to you, yeah. It's alien engineering, which to you would be magic. I can do real spells, if you want me to?" Lillian asked.
"Lily, you're not helping." The Doctor whispered to the Winchester, he then turned to Captain Avery and said, "Look, I'm the Doctor, this is Amy, Rory, Lillian. We're sailors, same as you. Arghhhh!"
Captain Avery then pointed his gun at the Time Lord, and the Doctor added, "Except for the gun thing, apart from Lillian, she loves guns. And the beardiness."
"You're stowaways! Only explanation. Eight days, we've been stranded here. Becalmed. You must have stowed away before we sailed." Captain Avery said.
"What do we do with 'em?" A pirate asked his Captain.
"Oh, I think they deserve our hospitality."

Usually, Lillian would find the pirates saying walking the plank was hospitality hilarious, except she was eventually going to have to walk the plank as well, which she didn't want to do. Fortunatelty, the Doctor was the first one to have to die, so while he was on the piece of wood, he said, "I suppose laughing like that is in the job description. "Can you do the laugh?" Check. Grab yourself a parrot. Welcome aboard."
"Stocks are low. Only one barrel of water remains. We don't need four more empty bellies to fill. Take the doxies below to the galley. Set them to work. They won't need much feeding." Captain Avery said.
"Doxy? I'm not a doxy! I can fight better than any man!" Lillian yelled at the pirates, as she elbowed one in the stomach, to try and break free of his grip.
