As the commotion diverted their attention, Yumiko's sharp eyes caught sight of a group of street performers setting up nearby. "Hey, check it out!" she exclaimed, nudging Iyomei and Khamenei gently. "Looks like they're getting ready to perform."
Khamenei's eyes lit up with excitement, her competitive spirit momentarily forgotten in the prospect of entertainment. "Let's go see what they've got!" she suggested eagerly, wheeling herself closer to the gathering crowd.
Iyomei nodded in agreement, her fingers trailing along the edge of her cane as she followed her sister's lead. "Sounds like a plan," she said with a smile. "I've always loved street performances."
Blaze's curiosity was piqued as well, and she glanced at Matsu and his fiancées. "What do you guys think? Want to check it out?" she asked, a hint of enthusiasm in her voice.
Matsu hesitated for a moment, torn between the unresolved conversation hanging in the air and the distraction of the street performers. But as he looked at the hopeful expressions on his sisters' faces and the anticipation in Blaze's eyes, he made a decision.
"Let's go," he said with a forced smile, pushing aside his own inner turmoil for the moment. "We could all use a bit of entertainment right now."
Calie and Marie exchanged a silent glance, their unspoken worries still lingering between them. But with a shared nod, they followed the others toward the gathering crowd, leaving the weight of Matsu's revelation temporarily behind them.
As they joined the throng of spectators, the distant strains of music and laughter filled the air, offering a brief respite from the uncertainty that loomed over them. And in that fleeting moment, surrounded by the vibrant energy of the city, they allowed themselves to be swept away by the magic of the moment, hoping that somehow, everything would eventually fall into place.
As they approached the small stage, Matsu leaned in close to Calie and Marie, his voice barely above a whisper amid the chatter of the crowd. "Hey, Calie, Marie," he murmured, his eyes fixed on the performers. "These folks here... they're aspiring idols."
Calie's eyes widened in surprise, a hint of recognition dawning in her gaze. "Really?" she whispered back, her curiosity piqued. "That's amazing. It reminds me of when we first started out."
Marie nodded in agreement, a nostalgic smile playing on her lips. "Yeah," she replied softly. "It's a tough journey, but seeing them up there, chasing their dreams... it's inspiring."
Matsu watched as the aspiring idols poured their hearts into their performance, their passion evident in every movement and note. Despite the challenges they faced, there was an undeniable sense of joy and determination radiating from the stage.
Blaze, noticing the exchange between Matsu and his fiancées, leaned in to join the conversation. "Idols, huh?" she whispered, her eyes flickering with interest. "Sounds like a tough gig for some."
Matsu nodded, his gaze lingering on the performers. "It definitely has its ups and downs," he agreed quietly. "But for those who are truly passionate about it, there's nothing quite like the feeling of being on stage." looking at Calie and Marie.
As they watched the performance unfold, Matsu couldn't help but feel a sense of kinship with the aspiring idols, each of them striving to pursue their dreams in their own way. And in that moment, surrounded by the music and energy of the crowd, he found himself filled with a renewed sense of hope for the future, knowing that no matter what challenges lay ahead, he wouldn't have to face them alone.
As the performance drew to a close and the crowd erupted into applause, Matsu turned to the group with a gentle smile. "That was amazing," he remarked, his voice filled with genuine admiration. "But I think it's time we head out."
