"Tell me the truth my dear," his eyes stayed on mine. "Uhh," I tried to think of something amongst the fog in my mind, but only to draw a complete blank. "Spit it out," he said quietly. "You're very close Alastor," I diverted.
He just chuckled, his eyes scanning my face and watching my flustered reaction as the silence grew. "Don't avoid my question further," he whispered. "It was what Angel said," I mumbled, feeling my cheeks burn up. He let go of me as he stood up straight, looking away as he thought for a moment before narrowing his eyes on mine.
"Really, is that so?" He seemed intrigued. "Yeah, it also took me by surprise," I managed to regain myself in the littlest of ways, sitting up as I spoke. No way in Hell would I be telling Alastor it made me start thinking of him in those ways Angel had suggested. Which may I say were NOT under my control.
"I must admit my dear, it had me thinking... ha ha," he shook his head as he chuckled. Thinking? Thinking what?! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ABOUT ALASTOR?! "Hmm... of what?" I asked, trying to sound like I was not desperate for the answer.
"Oh nothing," he grinned as he pinched my cheek, leaving me dumbfounded. "How about we go and get you some new clothes now, I know this lovely little place in town," he strolled to the door, looking over his shoulder at me. I pressed my lips together firmly, forcing a smile as I got up and followed him out the door.
Shopping in town was uneventful. I was fortunate I didn't run into Vox. Or should I say, Vox didn't stalk us and come to the same place. I also talked with Charlie about staying here for a while, which she was more than happy to let me. Just asking I help out around the Hotel. Which I happily agreed too.
It would be weird to have nothing to do all day after 6 years of waking up and working at Rosie's shop everyday, all day pretty much. Everything was going smoothly. Until it was night, everyone in their rooms heading for bed, myself included.
Just as I started to fall asleep I heard a knock at my door, causing a groan to leave my mouth in annoyance. I rolled out of bed to the door, revealing Alastor in his pajamas. "Alastor?" I rubbed my eyes, seeing if they were lying to me.
"Sorry if I've woken you my dear," he said with a warm smile before he just let himself in. I stared blankly before shutting the door and spinning around. Alastor stood by my bed, staring at me with a smile. "What are you doing here?" I asked slowly as I walked over to him.
"I've come to slumber with you again," he said it like it was the most casual thing in the world. My mouth fell open as I stared at him in disbelief. "Alastor you can't just come and sleep in my bed every night because of nightmares," I said, maybe being a little too harsh.
He just stared at me, waiting for me to say more though I had nothing else to say. I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Do you not see how it is... uh how do I say this... weird?" I raised an eyebrow at him as I lowered my hand to the side.
"Weird in what way darling?" He tilted his head to the side. I facepalmed myself, at this point I didn't know if he was aware of how awkward this was for me, or if he just enjoyed seeing how awkward I became.
"You literally own my soul Alastor, do not find it a bit odd to be snuggling up at night with the person's soul ya just took," I flared my hands out mockingly. He laughed lightly before nodding his head no. "Not one bit, do you?" He stared me up and down.
"Yes... Obviously!" I snapped at him. "See this... this stuff gives people the wrong impression Al," I pointed at him, trying to speak sternly. "What kind of impression darling?" He whispered with a smug smirk. He was doing this on purpose, I knew it!
