James hurriedly went and kneeled in front of Cassie, brushing a few stray strands out of her face.
"Jesus Cassie, what happened?"
"I- I- I tripped." Cassie was still struggling to breathe, hyperventilating which caused her to stutter. She was clearly in a lot of pain, but James couldn't tell if it was physical or not.
"Ok hold on, breathe. Deep breath in, and out." James gave her an example, then grabbed her hand and squeezed it softly.
He helped her calm down a bit then sighed, "Tripped?" Cassie nodded weakly. "Cassie... I don't think tripping causes bruises on your neck." James said softly, tenderly touching the newly forming bruises on Cassie's neck. Cassie flinched as his fingers made contact with her neck.
"It was a very hard fall." She whispered.
When James looked closer, his eyes widened, "Are those.. teeth marks?" James said shocked.
Cassie quickly covered her neck with her hands and bit back another sob. "No!"
"Cassie move your hand." James whispered.
"No." Cassie whispered, tears forming back in her eyes.
"Cassie." James warned. Cassie covered her mouth with her other hand, trying to keep herself from hyperventilating again. She shook her head. "Now, Cassie."
Cassie's breathing showed up and a silent tears streamed out as she removed her hand from her neck.
James eyes widened as he saw distinct bite marks to go along with the bruises.
"Who did this." He mumbled. Cassie shook her head quickly. "Who Cassie. I need you to tell me now."
Cassie sobbed again, "I promised I wouldn't say."
"Who made you promise." No answer. "Cassie you better fucking tell me."
No answer again.
"Cassie." Last warning.
"Amos!" Cassie cried out and broke out in sobs.
James eyes darkened and he swallowed, "I'll kill him."
"No!" Cassie shouted suddenly. "I promised I wouldn't tell anyone!"
"What else did he do Cass."
"Nothing."
"Don't lie Cassie, what else."
"He um.. pushed my dress straps down. And he um.. groped.. my- my-" Cassie couldn't finished the sentence, breaking down in tears again.
James sighed and brought Cassie close to him, hugging her tightly. He wanted to protect her from the world and he was upset with himself that he hadn't.
"Did he.. touch you? Anywhere else?"
Cassie shook her head, "Peeves came in and scared him off." She whispered.
James nodded, "That's good. Well.. not good about the- never mind."
James and Cassie sat there for a good 10 minutes or so, Cassie's face pressed against James chest and James consoling Cassie.
"I'm sorry about your shirt. I got mascara all over it." Cassie mumbled after a long time of silence.
James paused, then chuckled, "After all you've been through and you're concerned about my shirt. Why weren't you put in Hufflepuff." James said rhetorically. "My shirt is washable."
Cassie nodded slowly and sighed, "You're.. not going to tell anyone. Are.. Are you?"
"Cassie." James mumbled quietly, "You were just sexually assaulted. We've got to tell someone."
