The next night, everything seemed to be set. Every charm had been memorized, every step and moment was planned out and fool proofed.

All Cassie had to do was set off a simple levitation charm to activate the charmed fire sprinklers.

"Ok Cass, you go get changed into your costume, and don't forget the mask." To conceal her identity, Cassie had an eye mask.

She had decided to go as a princess, a sparkly gown, curled hair, a tiara, a full face of makeup. But, being Cassie, she'd had no idea how to do any of it.

Thankfully, Sirius had a friend who could help. The ginger girl Cassie had seen at the train station. Molly Prewett.

Molly and Cassie sat in Mollys dorm as Molly was adding the finishing touches to Cassie's makeup. "You're gorgeous." Molly said sweetly.

Cassie blushed and smiled, "Thank you." She said quietly.

Molly set down the blush brush and held up a mirror for Cassie to hold. "All done!"

Cassie was in awe of the makeup. Deep red lipstick to match her dress, smoky black eye shadow, her brown and pink faded hair pinned back in an elegant bun, black heels, and black earrings and necklace to finish it off.

Cassie smiled and hugged Molly, "Thank you." She whispered.

"Of course dear." Molly was a 6th year, a year above Cassie and the other boys. "Now I'm off to meet my date, have fun tonight." Molly left her room, heading down the stairs and meeting her date, Arthur Weasley.

Cassie shyly left the room, shutting the door and walking towards the top of the girls dormitory stairs. At the bottom, she saw Remus, Peter, Sirius and James waiting for her at the bottom. Her red and black mask was in her hands, waiting to be tied on.

James jaw dropped as he saw Cassie, and Sirius slowly closed it for him.

Cassie met Remus at the bottom of the stairs, almost tripping in her heels. "I hate heels." She muttered as Remus grabbed her forearm, steadying her.

"I'd say I agree, but I wouldn't know." Remus teased.

She smacked his arm playfully.

"Plans all set right?"

"All you gotta do is cast that levitation spell." Sirius said, nudging her shoulder.

Cassie sighed in relief and Remus pat her arm. "Ok. We're gonna go out." She nodded and Sirius grabbed onto Remus' arm, steadying the weak werewolf and helping him out of the common room. Peter followed closely behind.

Cassie held up her mask, attempting to tie it as she held it to her eyes but failed.

She groaned and was about to give up when she felt a presence behind her, gently grabbing the masks strings and tying it.

"You look gorgeous tonight." He whispered. James.

Cassie's face flooded a light shade of pink. "Thank you."

James finished tying it and he faced her, giving her one last look up and down. "Really." He said genuinely, "You look amazing."

Cassie smiled softly, unsure of what to say. She felt too awkward to say thank you again, so she didn't say anything.

James put a hand on her upper arm and smiled softly, "I'm sorry. For all the times I said something annoying."

"It's- I forgive you." She didn't want to say 'it's ok' because it wasn't ok, but she did forgive him. To show she forgave him, she reached in and hugged him.
