Nora. She's beautiful. Fearless. Confident. Bold. Definitely has attitude problems. But she's real. There's nothing fake about her. I admired her for that. She's everything a guy would want.
I can't take my mind off her. She's so mesmerizing. The way she's got my whole family wrapped around her finger. They love her. Respect her. No one's ever done that before. My dad thinks she would be perfect for our family name. That she would be perfect for me.
My siblings, oh don't even get me started. They've gotten so attached to her. Especially Arabella. She said she finally has someone who's like an older sister to her. Nora's always there for her. Whether it be doing her hair or just spending time with her. Antonio's very fond of her too. Aside from those flirty little comments he's glad to someone like her in his life.
And me... I don't know. I knew I wanted to destroy her the second I saw her. The first sane conversation she and I had. The little banters we had. Our first kiss. Our first time. God I wanted to taste her again. I wanted to touch her again. I closed my eyes and chuckled at the thought of her drowning my phone. She really is something else.
I hate feeling like this. Weak. Love is one thing I didn't do. After my mom died all hell broke loose. I left here. Left my family behind. I was so into the mafia that I forgot how to have emotions. How to care for someone. Until her. Maybe falling for her, caring for her would be a mistake. Would letting her go hurt my family? Maybe... Maybe she should stay. With me. Or so I thought.
As I was in deep thought Aiden barged into my room. "Jax has been shot."
This was the moment where I felt weak in the knees. Jax has been shot. And Nora... "What?"
"Jax was shot and he's at the hospital now."
"Where's Nora?"
"I- She wasn't there."
I started to walk out my room with Aiden following me. "What do you mean she wasn't there?"
"There was no sign of her anymore. Not her bag. Not her phone. Nothing. She wasn't there."
We sat in my car and I drove as fast as I could to the hospital. The only thing on my mind was Nora. Where was she? Was she okay? How did she just disappear? Was she really taken? I began to have doubts in my mind.
"Ace."
I heard him calling out to me.
"Ace."
"What Aiden?"
"Say something."
"The fuck do you want me to say?"
"What are you thinking?"
"I don't fucking know. All I know it's nothing good."
"Look, Nora's gonna be fine. She's strong. She knows how to survive. She survived with us."
"Because we're not the Russians. We're not fucking psychos going after her."
"We'll find her."
"What if she doesn't wanna be found?" I said something I thought I wouldn't have to say. But I couldn't stop thinking about this.
"What?"
"What if-"
"Don't fucking go there."
"Too fucking bad. We're already 'there'."
