Chapter 32 : I am freaking rich!!!

After Orion escaped, the Beedrill that had slammed into the ground managed to fly again. It appeared where the tunnel had collapsed and realized that it couldn't enter. Not to mention, Rhyhorn's attack nearly knocked it out. Rock was super effective against Bug and Beedrill's defense was very bad.

As such, the Beedrill might not have given chase even if the path was open. Seeing that Orion had escaped, Beedrill understood that Orion was highly outnumbered. It instructed the Kakunas to attack if Orion appeared again and went to join the war.

Unfortunately, it had been injured heavily by Rhyhorn. It didn't last long and was killed by a Spearow. The Beedrills fought hard, but they were completely outmatched due to facing two attacks from Pokemons having a type advantage over them. Before the Sunset, the Beedrill hive would have been wiped out!

However, Orion had nothing to do with it. He quickly exited the tunnel around the bush from where he was initially spying. He and Rhyhorn silently left the area and returned to Saffron City. Orion quickly returned to his room to count what he had gotten.

Orion first started with the Berries as he had that was his biggest harvest. After counting, he thought with a smile, 'Good harvest. I got 328 berries! Sitrus Berries are the highest in number followed by Pecha Berries and Oran Berries. I'll keep some for Rhyhorn and Machop but sell the rest as berries are perishable. I should be able to get around 10 thousand Pokecoins for it. Now, let me see what else I have.'

Orion began checking through other items. Machop had also tossed some herbs back, but they were ordinary ones. Orion decided to sell them. However, there was one red-colour herb that caught his eye.

He observed it carefully and realized, 'Wait! This is the Power Herb! A rather useful held item.'

If a Pokemon held Power Herb during battle, then it could use a move with a charging turn in one move instead of two. Of course, Pokemon battles weren't exactly turn-based in this world. However, some moves like Solar Beam and Skull Bash needed the Pokemon to gather the energy before they could launch the attack. Power Herb helped to increase the speed of gathering energy a lot.

Orion observed the Power Herb for some time before concluding, 'Unfortunately, I don't have any Pokemon that has a move that requires charging. So this item is more or less useless for me. I'll keep it for now, but if I need money, I'll sell it off. Anyway…'

Orion turned his attention towards the real treasure. He removed 6 objects from his bag. 5 were Nuggets! Each was of slightly different sizes.

Orion thought, 'The smallest Nugget sells for 5000 Pokecoins in the Mart. I should be able to sell these 5 for at least 50000 Pokecoins. It will alleviate food issues for Machop temporarily. Anyway, what is this item?'

The sixth object was a luminescent pearl. Orion hadn't seen it before. He observed it for some time but couldn't recall anything. He decided, 'It looks like a gemstone… I wonder if it has any use for Pokemon or if it's just like nuggets? I'll take a look at the list of objects that Poké Mart buys to see if this is on their list.'

Finally, Orion decided to handle the last item that he had taken from the Beedrill hive. He set a plastic mat on the floor and called Machop out. As soon as he appeared, a lot of Silver Powder fell on the mat. Orion looked at it and thought, 'As I guessed, it is Silver Powder, an item that can boost Bug type moves. I guess it is useful for Bug type mons growth as well, just like Hard Stone is for Rhyhorn.'

Orion looked at Machop and said with a smile, "You did great Machop! Let's get you cleaned up."

"Machop" Machop exclaimed proudly while trying to dust off the Silver Powder that was stuck to his body. Orion helped him and ensured that the Silver Powder stayed on the plastic mat. He divided it into smaller portions and stored it properly. The amount of Silver Powder Machop had carried was sufficient to create 8 Silver Powder held items. Just like the Power Herb, Orion decided to sell it only if he needed money. After all, it would be useful if Orion caught a Bug type Pokemon.

Orion rewards Rhyhorn and Machop with some of the berries before freshening up. With both his Pokemons content, Orion visited the Poké Mart. The store clerk was surprised to see Orion take out so many berries. Thankfully, he didn't ask too many questions. Orion sold around 280 berries and got 12000 Pokecoins for the same.

Orion kept the money and brought out the Nuggets. The clerk's eyes popped out as he saw the young kid bring out 5 Nuggets! He couldn't help but mutter, "Looks like you were very lucky today, Orion."

Orion was a regular face in the Poké Mart for the past year. So, everyone working there recognized him and was quite fond of him as well seeing how hardworking he was. Orion smiled and said, "Yeah, it was a good day."

The clerk weighed the Nuggets and gave Orion 75000 Pokecoins. Along with the 12 Thousand he got for the berries and the 10 Thousand that he already had, Orion had slightly more than 97 Thousand Pokecoins!

He couldn't help but think, 'If I sell off the Power Herb and Silver Powder, I might have enough to raise a new Pokemon! Maybe I should consider making plundering a full-time job.'

Of course, even though Orion thought of it, he didn't intend to actually act upon it. Chances like the one he had today were extremely rare. If Spearows and Fearows hadn't attacked, he wouldn't have had any chance.

Not to mention, he was still hesitant to check the talents of his Pokemon. So he didn't want to catch too many Pokemons before his Rhyhorn evolved as that would give him some ability to fight in case he attracted trouble. Once he began checking their talents, Orion planned on catching hundreds or even thousands of Pokemon of the same species until he could find Gold or Platinum talent.

Orion asked the clerk for the book which contained a list of items the Poké Mart would buy and sell. He went into a corner and began going through their list. After searching for some time, his eyes finally landed on a picture that looked just like the luminescent pearl that he had found. His eyes widened as soon as he read the information!
