The brotherhood members sit in a part of their base, while a prisoner is in the other. Wukong is unaccounted for.
"This is madness. She didn't do anything wrong, Peng. You startled her and she reacted as she does." Macaque argued, he seemed angry. Enraged even, tail lashing behind him as his glare remained on the bird demon.
"What I wanna know is what she was doing conversing with a celestial. If she was truly as loyal as you say, she would not affiliate with them." Azure counters from his seat.
Great Tusk nods in agreement. "Perhaps she's planning to try and attack." He comments. Peng scoffs and laughs. "Please, we should not be focusing on that buffoon. I can practically smell cowardice emitting off her."
Macaque snarls, slamming his fist against the wall. "You should take care of how you speak of my sister. She is sheepish but she is still my sister, and she is still a force to be reckoned with." He grumbled.
"And if I refuse?" Peng snarked. Macaque glared, a slight glow in his eyes. "Keep talking about my sister and we'll be having chicken for dinner." He threatened.
The group fell silent before Great Tusk spoke. "Perhaps... We should ask her what she was doing." He suggested.
Azure nodded. "That sounds best. Macaque, perhaps you should speak to her." He added.
The dark furred simian nodded. "She probably already knows but I'll go talk to her. If I or she hears one bad thing from any of you, I will throw Peng off the cliff." He stated as he stalked off.
(Meanwhile)
Macaque stepped into the holding cell his eyes meeting with E/C ones in the darkness. Though the glow was eerie, he simply smiled softly.
"Cub, what did you get yourself into?" He asked with a sad yet kind tone, tilting his head. The gaze disappeared before a figure stepped out of the dark.
She looked vaguely like him, with the same facial markings, just much softer and rounder. Her fur was a soft H/C color with pale Tufts occasionally. A bit of scruffy fur over her eyes. A long tail that remained curled around her leg. Six ears with F/C, S/F/C, T/F/C inner ear coloring that were drooped downward. She doesn't look older than seven, though they both know she's older.
She was wearing a black hanfu with a red ribbon and purple top. Small flowers braided into her fur around her head.
"I didn't mean to." She mumbled, looking down at the ground with a shamed expression.
Macaque smiles softly, placing his hand on her shoulder. "I know you didn't. What did the celestial realm let you off with?" He asked, trying to get as much information as he could.
"I have to help one of their warriors and basically be an apprentice until they think I can control my powers." She mumbled weakly in response.
Macaque sighed. "Okay, cub. It's not that bad. I'll send you back there through a shadow portal. I want you to be careful though. I won't be there to protect you." He replied.
The simian child nodded softly. She still looked ashamed of herself. Macaque frowned at this and knelt down to her level, so her gaze met his.
"Hey now, who's my favorite little shadowling?" He chirped playfully. The girl had to suppress a smile as her ears perked up.
"Me." She mumbled. He smirked and hugged her. "That's right. And I'll come visit you when I can. These years are gonna fly by, okay?" He assured them, pulling away.
The girl nodded. "Yeah." He smiled. "Great. Now, head out." He told her, taking a step back and summoning a shadow portal beneath her.
