BROOKLYN laughed as shayne walked into his bedroom holding two bowls of ice cream.
"thank you." she said as shayne sat down next to her.
"no problem." he said, pressing a kiss to brooklyn's head. "so, you excited for tomorrow?"
"i'm very excited." brooklyn smiled. "i'm exhausted, though. today was a very long day." she said as she leaned on shayne's shoulder.
"just think... this time next week we'll be moved into our new place and you'll have finished your first week at smosh."
"good things are coming our way, shayne." brooklyn smiled.
"how can it get better than this?" shayne said, leaning into brooklyn.
brooklyn smiled and ate her ice cream. the room around her was peacefully quiet, with the occasional scrape of a spoon on a bowl.
the room was also very bare, with many cardboard boxes full of shayne's belongings stacked around. his apartment would be her home for the next week, with all of her things, minus the necessitites, in boxes in their new apartment.
she placed her empty bowl on the nightstand next to her and got comfortable next to shayne.
"i can't believe this." brooklyn said.
"what?" shayne asked, softly playing with brooklyn's hair.
"you, us." brooklyn smiled. "i thought i was done dating for awhile and then you walked into my life and now i have a new job and a new apartment to move into."
"getting sappy, are we?" shayne smiled.
brooklyn laughed. "i can't help it."
"i know, it's hard dating such a catch like myself." shayne joked.
"that's exactly what amanda warned me of when she set us up." brooklyn smiled.
"i don't know if it was setting up as much as it was harrassing us about our non existing love life until we decided to humor her." shayne said.
"and then it turned out she was right about us." brooklyn laughed. "and she'll never let us forget that."
"i guess there's worse things for her to be right about." shayne said, smiling at brooklyn.
"who is getting sappy now, mr. topp?" brooklyn put her hand on shayne's cheek and gave him a kiss.
as the kiss deepened, brooklyn got up and grabbed her and shayne's bowl. "hey, things were just starting to get fun." shayne joked.
brooklyn smiled and flipped her boyfriend off.
shayne put his hands up. "i love you." he said sweetly.
brooklyn laughed and winked. "i'll be right back."
