A Pinch to Grow an Ed

Eddy walked across his bedroom floor, shirtless. He then made poses in front of his bedroom mirror, appearing and disappearing from it every few seconds. He put on a shirt. He was jumping up and down in order to be visible to it. He then took a chair over to his record player. He took out a record and tried to put it on, while balancing on the chair, but he was not quite tall enough to reach the record player. One of his attempts sent the chair skittering out from under him, and he had to grab the cabinet on which the record player was perched to keep from falling. The vinyl he was trying to play fell to the floor and broke into many pieces like glass.

"You're firewood." Eddy told his cabinet.

Eddy was looking at a wall. On the wall were marks showing how much he had grown. Comically, his growth had been nonexistent from eight years old onwards. Annoyed by this, Eddy extended one of his hairs to its utmost length and marked this false extension as his height. He walked off, happy.

The kids were playing in the playground. Sarah and Jimmy, in particular, were playing with a baby carriage. Eddy came up to them.

"Hey!" Eddy greeted.

"Eddy, we need a new dolly." Sarah told him. "Wanna be our new dolly?"

"Yeah, dolly!" Jimmy repeated. They both giggled. Eddy walked off, unhappy. Kevin came up to him with Nazz.

"Hey, squirt, where's the tall dorks?" Kevin asked. Eddy walked on. He saw Rolf playing with a basketball.

"Hey, Rolf! Quick, pass it, c'mon Rolf, pass it!" Eddy shouted.

"You are too little, Eddy, I might squish you." Rolf told him. Eddy grumpily moved on.

"Yeah right." Eddy mumbled.

Ed, Katya, and Double D were playing on the swing set, well, Katya and Double D were swinging while Ed was pushing Katya.

"Ed, I can p-p-push myself." Katya managed to say through her giggles.

"Katya's right, Ed." Double D agreed while Katya inhaled sharply then exhaled. "Perhaps you should take the swing next to her."

"Okay." Ed smiled and started to swing himself. Double D jumped off and landed perfectly on the ground. Katya followed suit and landed perfectly as well, celebrating her victory with a gymnastics-like stretch in the air. Ed jumped as well, but reconsidered immediately."Too high!" He grabbed the swing and held it as he came back to earth.

"You-You-You-You-You-You can do it, Ed." Katya encouraged him, clapping. "I believe in you!" The swing dragged him through the dirt, making a trench.

"You call that a jump?" Eddy asked.

"Eddy!" Ed exclaimed.

"Watch and learn." Eddy said. He took a running start at the swing. He jumped on it, letting it carry him higher, and then jumped, landing a ways away.

"Bravo, Eddy!" Double D praised. "You've broken another record!"

"Chin-ups, anybody?" Eddy asked.

"Me first!" Ed shouted. He rushed ahead of the other two Eds and Katya, jumped, and grabbed a bar.

"Hey!" Eddy shouted.

"C'mon, Eddy!" Double D said, grabbing one of the monkey bars as well. Eddy attempted to reach the bars, but his height wouldn't allow it.

"It's fun!" Katya exclaimed. "Alleyoop!" She jumped up and grabbed into the bars, kicking both her legs. Eddy attempted a third time to no use. Ed and Double D let go of the bars.
