We need an new plan

Waking up Hermione felt something weighing heavy across her stomach. She opened her eyes and blinked against the blinding light. As she lifted her head slightly she noticed it was Severus' arm lying on her abdomen. He was still soundly asleep, his body turned towards her, his long black hair had fallen across his face, and all Hermione could see of it was the tip of his nose.

She remembered that Severus had actually left the Room of Requirement in the evening, he wanted to return to his dormitory, so nobody would get suspicious of his absence. But perhaps he had changed his mind. When Hermione had woken up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat and her eyes full of tears, Severus sat beside her on the edge of the bed. He had pulled her into his arms and spoke soft words of comfort. Then he had held a vial to her lips and shortly afterwards Hermione had drifted into a dreamless sleep in his arms.

Now while Hermione watched Severus sleep, even if she had not intended it, she realized she felt more and more drawn to him. The previous evening, after their failed break in attempt at the Ministry of Magic, they had spent a long time sitting together and discussing.

Severus had suggested getting a timeturner in Nockturn Alley in London. None other than Lucius Malfoy had told him that absolutely everything could be purchased in Nockturn Alley, for the right price of course. But given the fact that neither he nor Hermione had enough galleons for that, it made the plan impossible to go through with. They first had to find a way to get the Gold, but no idea yet how to manage that.

Severus slowly stirred beside Hermione. The young witch closed her eyes and tried to breathe as calmly as possible. She could feel Severus sitting up beside her, and it felt almost as if she could feel his gaze on her body. As he got up from the bed, Hermione lay still and without moving for a few more moments. Once she dared to open her eyes, her gaze searched the room for him, but she could not see Severus anywhere. Hermione got up and picking the garment up from the chair next to the bed, slid into her trousers. Just as she closed the last button she noticed Severus emerging through one of the doors, that seemed to lead into the bathroom. Their eyes met for a moment and Severus awkwardly avoided her gaze. "The bathroom is all yours now if you... ehm, I am heading for breakfast in the Great Hall now. I will bring something for you."

Hermione looked at Severus thoughtfully. "Can I come with you?"

Severus turned his head to her abruptly and stared at Hermione with wide eyes.

"You want to come along? To the Great Hall?"

Hermione noticed his startled expression, but she did not back down, straightened and nodded.

"Yes, I don't want to be all alone in the Room of Requirement all the time."

Severus brushed his hand against his face. "How, in Salazar's name, do you want to walk through the Castle without being seen, Hermione?"

Her eyes glistened at Severus with defiance. "I will just hide under the Invisibility Cloak."

Severus breathed loudly. "Okay then. If you have to, but hurry up, I have to get going."

Hermione looked at him suspiciously. "If I go to the bathroom now, will you wait for me? You will not have vanished when I am finished?"

Severus groaned, annoyed. "Not if you hurry up. So get going!"
