THE NIGHT had not been peaceful at all for Treech; the nightmares were constant, and he turned from side to side in the bed looking for air in search of comfort. He could swear that if Nesta hadn't been there by his side, he would have already had some kind of attack.

Nesta, on the other hand, almost slept through the night, being too busy and worried trying to keep Treech's nightmares away and bringing him closer to her as he slept and mumbling gibberish in his sleep, and it stopped calming him down for a while, it brought a little comfort to the boy's sleep.

There was a point during the night when the girl's mother had to go to her daughter's room due to Treech screaming in her sleep, but Nesta assured her that she had everything under control and that she could take care of him.

She wanted to take care of him.

And despite the tiredness and the obvious dark circles under her eyes, Nesta refused to get some sleep, she was too afraid that if she slept, Treech might be taken away from her, or worse, she was afraid that he would hurt himself in some way.

She knew that the next few months, or even years, would not be easy for Treech, and she was not willing to let him go through anything alone; if she could, she would take his pains for herself without hesitation.

And he would do the same for her too.

Nesta was thankful though, thankful that Treech was with her, that Treech was alive, and now seeing him sleep so peacefully after a night full of nightmares, she couldn't help but smile as she ran her fingers through his hair.

"Sweetheart." Treech's hoarse voice caught her, making her look away from her book and look down with the same smile as before, the smile that made Treech's chest beat harder. "What are you doing up so early?" He questioned softly, and Nesta couldn't help but let out a nasal laugh at his curious expression.

"Nothing much; I'm just reading." Nesta decided to hide the fact that she hadn't slept all night because she knew he would feel guilty about it.

Treech lifted his head from the girl's chest, sitting next to her and trying to see what was written inside the book, but due to having recently woken up, the letters seemed all crooked in his head.

"What book are you reading?" He murmured as he rested his head on Nesta's shoulder, still feeling sleepy.

The girl gave a nasal laugh and turned the book towards Treech, showing him the blue and gold cover. "The Song of Achilles." He read the title in a whisper. "What is it about?" He asked, and although he wasn't curious, he longed to hear her voice more; it made him feel calm.
