Chapter 20: Day Out with the Demon

It was just about time for Rosalyn to get out of school and Crowley was waiting outside for her like he always did though usually he was joined by Aziraphale but sadly the Angel had other matters to attend to. Aziraphale accidentally got roped into hosting the shopkeeper's association meeting despite the absolute debacle of last time that only a select few people actually remembered happening. Since there was no way Aziraphale could get out of hosting it without using a miracle or two, he decided that maybe this terrible thing happening to him was a blessing in disguise as he knew that Crowley had been wanting to spend more time with Rosalyn but didn't really know how so Aziraphale insisted that while he ran this meeting, Crowley should take Rosalyn out and do something together.

Crowley sat outside Rosalyn's school and saw Rosalyn come out. As she exited the building she slid on her glasses but suddenly a bigger boy plucked them right off her face and ran off with them. So Crowley just wandered towards him and stopped. The boy not looking where he was going ran right into Crowley while holding the glasses. The boy looked up at Crowley and had clear as day fear in his eyes. Crowley just watched the boy step back and stare at him like a deer in headlights until Rosalyn walked up behind the boy and politely tapped him on the shoulder which caused him to jump. "May I please have my glasses back?" Asked Rosalyn very politely as she held out her hand. The boy looked back at Crowley and then quickly handed them to Rosalyn. The boy then ran off screaming and crying. "Did you look scary on purpose Papa?" Asked Rosalyn as she slid her glasses on.
"Nope, I just naturally scare children." Said Crowley as Rosalyn walked with him.

The two of them got in the Bentley and Crowley turned in his seat to look at Rosalyn who was in the backseat. "So your father is going to be busy all afternoon and wants us out of the bookshop for the time being so what would you like to do?" Asked Crowley as Rosalyn beamed brightly.
"Can we go see Lydia please!please!please!" She begged as Crowley smiled.
"Of course Peanut." He said with a smile as he started the Bentley.

He took the Bentley back to his flat and went to Gabriel and Beelzebub's flat. He didn't bother knocking knowing they kept the door unlocked as he and Rosalyn wandered in. The moment the two little girls saw each other they ran towards each other squealing then ran off to Lydia's bedroom. "It is so adorable every time they do that." Said Gabriel with a smile.
"Yeah I'm really glad that they're such close friends." Said Beelzebub as Crowley walked over and sat in a chair.
"Well of course they are, they're the only two beings like each other in all of existence so of course they'd want to be together." Said Crowley as Gabriel looked at him.
"Is that why you and Aziraphale were friends for the last 6 thousand years?" Asked Gabriel as Crowley rolled his eyes behind his glasses.
"Not exactly that reason- I mean it ended being the reason later on but it sorta just started out that we just kept running into each other. I mean this planet isn't that big plus we both were under strict orders to stay in highly populated areas so of course we kept running into each other and eventually we decided that we preferred the company of each other rather than any human that would die in like 50 years and to us that's not very long at all." Said Crowley as Beelzebub and Gabriel nodded in agreement.

As the adults talked Rosalyn and Lydia sat in Lydia's room talking as well. "Do you like school? Is it really fun?!" Asked Lydia as she hadn't seen Rosalyn since she started school which to be fair was only a week ago but for Lydia that was far too long.
"Not really, all the stuff they teach us I already know and none of the other kids like me very much." Said Rosalyn as she braided the hair of a Barbie doll.
"Well why not?" Asked Lydia as Rosalyn sighed.
"Because they think my eyes are weird." Said Rosalyn as she sighed.
"Well I think your eyes are beautiful!" Said Lydia as she took the glasses off Rosalyn's face and put them on a large teddy bear on her bed. She looked back over at Rosalyn with a smile which made her smile too. "See beautiful!" Said Lydia as she walked over. "Wait! I turn 5 in the summer! When I get into school I'll make sure that no one bullies you ever again! But until then whenever those jerks make you feel bad just come to me and I'll hug all your bad feelings away!" Said Lydia as she ran up to Rosalyn and hugged her tightly. "Is it working?" Asked Lydia as she squeezed her tight and Rosalyn laughed.
"Yeah!" Said Rosalyn as she hugged Lydia back.
