7. Romance

Im browsing the romance section of a bookstore near the movie theater when I found Icebreaker. I've read it before, but it's a good book. I flip to a random page.

Oh

I've been reading while Ashley and Delaney were getting a soft pretzel in a big line at the movies. I decided to use my time here. All of a sudden, I hear a voice behind me.

"Wow, I never knew you were into this stuff." A voice I could recognize any day.

I turned to face him, clearly startled. "I'm not doing anything!" I blurted out that I felt myself heating up.

Deny Deny Deny

I get up and start to walk away, his footsteps trailing behind me. "Hey, wait up, no need to be embarrassed." He catches up and snatches the book from my hand.

"Reed," I say sternly, glaring at him. "Jones." He glares back, holding the book high above him so I can't reach it.

"Give it back," I whisper. He starts reading the page, his eyes widening with a smirk. I jump up to try to get to it, but I step on his foot in the process. Making me stumble as we both fall to the floor.

Woah

The sight of Reed on top of me is something I thought I'd never see. "You should get used to this position," he says, keeping the smirk on his face while I roll my eyes.

He looks up behind my head to see the librarian in shock. He helps me up and clears his voice. I speed-walked out of there before yelling at him.

"This is your fault!" I exclaim, "What, how is it my fault? You're the one who fell!" He fires back.

I do not have time for this.

"Well, maybe if you didn't take the book, I wouldn't have tripped!" I see the girls waiting at the entrance.

and the guys?

"Well-" I cut him off. "Why are you and the guys here?" he stumbles.

"We were just walking by and saw Ashley and Delaney but noticed you weren't there, so Noah asked where you went, so I snuck off to find you." He said the last part quickly.

"I don't need you looking for me." I mumble.

They all look at us as if they are questioning why I was yelling at him a second ago.

"Where's Reese?" I ask when we reach them, "He had to do stuff with his dad, not sure what." Noah responds.

"The guys are going to join us; you don't mind, do you?" I shake my head as if to say no.

We all start walking Delaney next to me while Ashley and Noah walk in front; they look friendly.

A little too friendly

Reed starts apologizing as if he realized his mistake. I block that out though, but I appreciate the apology.

Reed apologized.

Thats rare

"They would look cute together, don't you think?" Delaney nudges me, pointing to the obvious flirting going on in front of us.

Something about one of my best friends ending up with my brother seems off-putting to me. It's weird to think that they would always bicker, but now I'm not even sure what.

I wouldn't mind, but I'd just need time to get used to it. Besides, I'm sure Ashley would tell me if anything was going on with them.

We get to the theater, and I sit next to Delaney. Reed, of course, just had to sit beside me.

He tells me, "I also read the book, by the way." I look at him, shocked.

Reed likes romance, huh? Who knew?

OKAYYY so ik this is basically a filler which is why it's out so early.

chapter 8 will be released uhmmm im not sure like next week? possibnly this but probably with my lack of motivation not.

ive js got stuff going on soooooo expect it NEXT WEEK
