15. Dinner

(SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING FOR A WHILE YOU MIGHT WANNA READ BACK TO REFRESH UR MIND)

We have been sitting at our usual lunch table for the past 20 minutes and the girls are asking about my date with Lucas. It was a nice date, but I don't know if I would want to be something more with him.

"Yea it was good," I tell Ashley "So what are you guys going to date now?" Delaney asks. I was about to answer but I myself don't know the answer to that.

They realized my uncertainty and started asking why. "I just don't think we're good like that, you know what I mean." I look up at them. "Maybe you should give it a try, who knows maybe he is the one." I nod back to them "yeah maybe" I say in a whisper tone.

"Topic change, did you guys hear about the argument between Reed and Lucas today?" They had a fight? What were they fighting about and why? "You should ask them liv" they look at me both.

It's been 10 minutes of me staring at my phone because I have no clue how to respond to this.

Lucas: Will you be my girlfriend?

I should know my answer to be no but it's so tempting to say yes. I mean what's stopping me?

I start typing back a yes before I get a knock on my door and see my mom open the door slightly. "Hey mom" I say putting my phone back quickly, she eyes me wearily for a second before talking "I was going to ask what do you want for dinner I forgot about the lasagna i was making so yea."

"I'm feeling like Panera bread today." she was closing the door then spoke out "are you okay by the way you seem down"

I look at her with a smile telling her I'll be fine. I click the send button and turn off my phone.

I don't know how long it has been, but I hear my mom yelling for me to come down for the food and I've still not gotten any reply. I open my phone to see him leaving me to read. Feeling a little down I walk downstairs to see a whole lot of food on the table.

"Who's going to eat all of this? This is a lot of food. Did you buy out the whole store?" I ask my dad "I bet you he's going to eat it all I hear Noah say from next to me"

We all laugh. I even hear my mom laugh from the kitchen before she comes over and asks me something I actually don't mind doing. "Liv, why don't you go ask Chase if he wants to come over for dinner, I'm sure he's alone at home."

"Why can't Noah do it?"

Why would you say that?

"Because I'm asking you now, go ask."

I get up from the chair and walk next door. I'm not sure why I'm so eager for this. I shouldn't be eager, but I am so why?

I knock on the door and hear footsteps before I see the door opened by Chase. "Wanting to see me liv?" he says leaning against the door "quite the opposite" i start he opens the door wider as I walk in and closes behind me walking to his kitchen.

"Come over for dinner" I ask, looking up to meet his eyes. He stares at me for a minute before declining. "I don't want to bother you guys" as he goes to wipe his hands on a rag next to the sink.

"You won't bother us, come on, my dad got more food than needed." I lean against the counter. He steps to me, staying quiet. "I insist" I say he looks at me with a confused face before bursting out laughing. "You insist? Why would liv who hates me insist for me to come over for dinner" I burst out laughing with him "oh come on i was trying to be nice" it seemed like he was way too close to me. Almost pinning me against the counter fully. He says okay but for some reason we stand still.

I clear my throat. "We should go now" I drag my eyes away from him. "Yea right sorry" we start walking "don't be" I say back feeling his eyes turn towards me. We get to my house and sit down while he greets my parents.

"I was about to get Noah to get you, it had taken a while. I thought you guys murdered each other by now. I look at him to see him crack out a smile making me do the same.

"We can be civil sometimes"

Just sometimes
