I've been browsing the romance section for a while now. Not that I like all that sappy, cute stuff, but I just want to have something genuine with somebody.
I've also noticed Olivia sitting in the corner, trying to read a book. She's been staring at me more than reading, though.
I walk through the aisles and get close enough to see her look back at the book. I go up to her and ask her, "Why are you staring at me?" replying, "Im not staring" and not even glancing at me.
I decide to give her a blank look. If she thinks shes fooling me, then shes wrong. "You're a horrible liar," I snicker. She pushes me away. "Shut up, I wasn't lying." She looks at my book, and I decide to hide it behind my back.
"What book is that?" She refers to the one in my hand. "You don't need to know." She stands up, getting closer to me. I stand still, frozen, unable to move. I continue looking at her, maintaining eye contact.
That is, until she snatches the book, reading the cover: "No way your reading twisted love." I take back the book, beginning to walk away, knowing she'll follow.
"No need to be embarrassed," she says, laughing. I deny the fact that I'm embarrassed; this time it's her turn to give me a blank look.
"When should our next study session be?" I answer to her, "Thursday?"
"I can't do Thursday," I ask. "I have a date that day." Who could possibly be going out with it? It better not be who I think it is.
"With who?" I decide to ask, and I hear her hesitate before saying the one name she shouldn't have. "Lucas," I nod at her as my smile falters. "Well, I gotta go, but I'll see you another day," I rush away.
