Chase's Pov

ENJOYYY

------------------------

We've been studying for the past hour, and I keep zoning out. I can't help it. First off, history is boring.

What's even the point of history? It's useless after grade school. There is no point in learning about the past, not like time travel is a thing.

"So the war of 1912 was then." I cut her off. "What did Lucas talk to you about?" She stared for a minute before giving me a "what" with a confused look.

"After I left the locker room, he stayed back to talk to you," I directed at her. "Just talking"

I give her a blank stare and raise my eyebrows as if to say, "Really?" She stays still, not bothering to look away.

"He asked me out," she says, looking down on her lap at the textbook. "You said yes?" She nods and flips a couple of pages.

"No," I blurt out. She looks to my side and says, "What do you mean, no?"

"I mean, no, can't you understand that it's not hard? No means no."

She looks even more confused before saying, "No, I can't go out with him." I nod and look at my phone.

She scoffs, "You can't decide that; I'm going."

"Liv, no, you'll distract him from football." I stop shortly. "It happened once, and it for sure will happen again."

She scoffs before laughing. "Are you out of your mind?" She adds, "You can't control what I do or who I go out with."

"You do not understand." I shouted out She shouts back, "No, you don't understand Chase!" She takes a breath. "It's just a date, not like we're getting married with five kids and a dog named Who knows what."

"It will lead to more, and I know it." She starts laughing, "It's one date, Chase. Im not even into blondes." She gathers her stuff. "Chill out," she mumbles.

"Don't leave like that." She shakes her head like I'm stupid.

"I'm sorry, but I'm just looking out for him." I start "It's not your job to do that; he's not some little kid who can't take care of himself."

I stop for a minute, just taking glances at her. "Im his captain; he wants to go pro." I add, "A girl now will only distract him."

She looks at me dumbfounded.

Her eyes look pretty.

"I'm going to go; we should pick this up another time." She starts looking for her phone. "Where is my phone?"

I look around and spot it on my dresser. I quickly walked over and put it in my pocket.

"What'd you just grab off the dresser?" She continues flipping pillows over. I'm about to burst out laughing, but keep it in.

She looks at me and goes back to searching before giving me a second look and somehow figuring it out. I'm definitely not laughing by now.

She puts her hand out. "Give me my phone." I hand it over, and she starts walking downstairs. "I'll walk you," I say, putting a hoodie on.

It's quite chilly tonight, but there's a nice breeze in the air as well. She obliges and walks out. I decided to walk behind her until a stick snapped.

Stupid stick

She turns around and stops before me. "I told you not to!" I start laughing. "Not funny. You almost gave me a heart attack." If that's not her proving the point, I don't know what is.

I walk up to her and move her to the right side. That way, I'm near the sidewalk. I walk up to her doorstep, and she turns once more. "Thanks for walking me even though I didn't need you to."

I let out a grin. "You look hot when you're mad." She scoffs and closes the door on me.
