With a silent nod of acknowledgment, Meerab bid Mariam farewell, her heart heavy with the weight of their shared sorrow. As she made her way back into the house, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the air, a silent reminder of the challenges that lay ahead for her beloved sister-in-law.

As Meerab made her way towards the bedroom, her footsteps echoing softly in the hallway, she was taken aback to see Haya standing in the doorway between the garden and Murtasim's bedroom.

"Yahan kya kar rahi ho tum?" Meerab exclaimed; her irritation evident in her tone as she questioned Haya's unexpected presence.

Haya turned to face Meerab, her expression calm yet determined. "Main Mariam ke saath thodi der ke liye baat karne aayi thi. Aur iske liye mujhe tumhari ijazat ki zaroorat nahi hai," she stated firmly, her voice tinged with a hint of defiance.

Meerab felt a surge of frustration rise within her at Haya's words, but she chose to remain composed. Haya's gaze met Meerab's, her eyes unwavering. "Meri aur Mariam ki dosti par tumhaara koi asar nahi padega," she asserted confidently. "Woh meri behan hai, meri bachpan ki dost."

Meerab's jaw clenched at Haya's boldness, but she quickly composed herself. Realizing that arguing with Haya would only be a waste of time, she simply nodded in acknowledgment. Meerab muttered something under her breath before turning on her heel and striding towards her bedroom, determined to focus her energy on more pressing matters.

Meerab had searched every nook and cranny of the house, but Murtasim was nowhere to be found. Frustration gnawed at her as she wracked her brain for any clue to his whereabouts. Then, a realization dawned on her, and she hurried towards the study where her husband often immersed himself in the affairs of their lands and other businesses.

As Meerab entered the study, she found Murtasim engrossed in a stack of paperwork, his brow furrowed in concentration. Determined to capture his attention, she moved closer, the soft swish of her silk dupatta filling the room. With deliberate grace, she leaned against the edge of his desk, allowing her fingers to trail lightly across the surface.

Murtasim glanced up, momentarily startled by Meerab's presence. His eyes widened in surprise as he took in her alluring form, the subtle sway of her hips and the inviting curve of her lips. Sensing his gaze upon her, Meerab leaned in closer, her breath whispering against his ear as she murmured in a low, husky voice.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?" she purred, her words laced with seduction. Her fingers danced teasingly along the edge of his paperwork, tracing her fingers further over his forearm sending a shiver down Murtasim's spine.

Caught off guard by Meerab's sudden boldness, Murtasim struggled to maintain his composure. He cleared his throat, his gaze flickering between her enticing figure and the unfinished tasks before him. Despite his best efforts to focus, the magnetic pull of his wife proved irresistible.

With a slow, deliberate movement, Murtasim reached out to draw Meerab closer, his touch igniting a fire within her. He pulled her face down, holding her from the neck and brushing his lips against her. As their lips met in a passionate embrace, the outside world faded away, leaving only the intoxicating heat of their desire. Feeling the urgency of her desires, Meerab pressed herself closer to Murtasim, hoping to reignite the spark of their passion. But to her dismay, he gently pushed her away, his attention still fixed on the documents before him.

"Meerab, Jaan," Murtasim said softly, his voice tinged with regret, "I really need to finish this work. Why don't you go ahead and rest? I'll join you in bed once I'm done."

Meerab's heart sank at his words, but she refused to give up so easily. Ignoring his gentle dismissal, she leaned in closer, trailing her fingertips lightly along the curve of his jaw, seeking to draw his attention back to her.
