Home is not a place. It is a feeling."

....

Three weeks had passed since the incident, and a semblance of normalcy had returned to their lives. Laughter filled the small apartment once more, punctuated by the clatter of packing boxes and the lively chatter of Taehyung and Jimin. Jungkook, though not entirely his old self, seemed lighter. A spark had returned to his eyes, a flicker of the bubbly giggle they knew and loved threatening to erupt at any moment.

Today, they were packing for their return to South Korea. The departure date loomed in three short days, and a mix of emotions swirled within Jungkook. Excitement bubbled at the prospect of a new beginning, a fresh start with his hyungs. The thought of being alone again filled him with a cold dread, but the warmth radiating from Taehyung and Jimin,  chased away the shadows.

As they sorted through his belongings, Taehyung nudged a framed picture towards Jungkook. It was a photo from happier times, that was from the second month of his arrival in US before he met Eunwoo, all three of them grinning goofily at a carnival booth, faces smeared with cotton candy.

"Remember this day, Kookie?" Taehyung asked, his voice laced with a hint of nostalgia.

A slow smile crept across Jungkook's face. "How could I forget? You almost got swept away trying to win that giant teddy bear for Jiminie hyung."

Jimin chuckled, shaking his head. "And look how smug you were holding it afterwards, like you were the hero."

Laughter filled the room, a genuine, carefree sound. It was a stark contrast to the heavy silence that had shrouded them just weeks ago. Looking at Taehyung and Jimin, their playful banter warming the air, Jungkook realized something. He wasn't alone anymore. He had found his anchors, his safe harbor.

"Hey," Jungkook started, his voice slightly hesitant. "About coming to Korea… are you sure it's okay with your parents?"

Taehyung stopped folding clothes, his gaze meeting Jungkook's. "We already talked about it, Kookie. I've told you before too that they're thrilled to have you. They've been asking me about you ever since we first met."

A wave of relief washed over Jungkook. He hadn't dared to express his worries, but the fear of intruding had gnawed at him.

"They know… about everything?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.

Taehyung squeezed his shoulder reassuringly. "They know you've been going through a tough time, Kookie. They understand. And trust me, they're the most welcoming people you'll ever meet."

Jimin chimed in, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Plus, Eomma-yun make the best kimchi jjigae in all of Korea. You're in for a treat."

The thought of a warm, home-cooked meal brought a smile to Jungkook's face. The idea of a family, one that embraced him with open arms, filled the emptiness that had resided within him for so long.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the room, they finally finished packing Jungkook's and Tae's stuff. Exhausted but content, they settled on the floor, surrounded by boxes.

A comfortable silence descended upon them, broken only by the chirping of crickets outside. Jungkook leaned his head against Jimin's shoulder, a sense of belonging washing over him. He wasn't sure what the future held, but he knew, with unwavering certainty, that he wouldn't face it alone. He had found his home, not in a place, but in the love of his hyungs.
