As the afternoon sun painted the room with a warm glow, Jungkook found himself seated on the edge of the bed, contemplating the revelation that would inevitably change the dynamics of their shared lives.
The soft whirr of the ceiling fan overhead seemed to amplify the quiet turmoil in Jungkook's mind. He traced patterns on the bedsheet, his fingers absentmindedly following the twists and turns. He knew he couldn't keep this secret forever, especially from the two people who had become his pillars of support in this foreign land.
His decision weighed heavily on him. On one hand, he wanted to be honest with Taehyung and Jimin, to share the news about the life growing inside him. On the other hand, he feared becoming a burden to them. He had seen how they made his life easy here, and he didn't want to disrupt the harmony they had found.
Jungkook's thoughts circled back to the conversation with Taehyung last morning. The sincerity in Tae's eyes and the gentle assurance that he was there for Jungkook echoed in his mind. Yet, the fear persisted. He questioned himself: Would they understand the gravity of this situation? Would they still accept him?
The ticking clock on the wall reminded Jungkook that time was ticking away, and he needed to make a decision. A deep breath in, a slower exhale. He decided that he owed them the truth, just as they had been honest and supportive with him. The decision was made, he felt a mixture of relief and anxiety.
As the evening approached, Jungkook heard the door unlocking. Tae and Jimin entered, their voices carrying the warmth of camaraderie. Jungkook greeted them with a small smile, concealing the storm within him.
Jimin, ever perceptive, noticed something different. "You okay, Kookie?" he asked, concern etched on his face.
Jungkook nodded, trying to maintain a facade of normalcy. "Yeah, just thinking about some stuff."
Taehyung, ever the comforting presence, sat next to Jungkook, giving him a reassuring smile. "Whatever it is, you know we're here for you, right?"
Jimin joined them, his hand resting on Jungkook's shoulder. "Absolutely. We're like the Three Musketeers, right?"
Jungkook felt a surge of warmth at their words. He looked at his two hyungs, who had become family in this foreign land. The courage he needed to share his news bubbled up within him.
"I.. I need to tell you something," Jungkook started, his voice steady but tinged with vulnerability. He took a deep breath. "I'm... I'm pre..pregnant."
Silence settled in the room as his words hung in the air. The ticking clock seemed to echo louder than ever.
The room felt like it had been vacuum-sealed, the air thick with unspoken emotions. Jimin's voice was the first to pierce the silence, attempting to bridge the gap of awkwardness and anxiety. "Jungkook, it's... okay. We'll figure this out together."
As Jungkook glanced at Taehyung, seeking some kind of reassurance or understanding, he found a wall of silence. Tae's eyes, usually warm and comforting, seemed distant and averted. The weight of Tae's disappointment hit Jungkook like a ton of bricks. He desperately wanted Tae's support, but instead, he felt a void growing between them.
