Hello hello hello! You're probably wondering what this is. So this is a random little thing I impulsively decided to do, I don't know why, but I hope it will help you guys!
So the term ''forbidden snack'' refers to a non-edible item or substance that resembles something you might wish you could eat or drink just based on looking at it.
For example, you may see colorful rocks and want to eat them. I've put together this list of common different textures of forbidden snacks and what foods and drinks you can look for to satisfy each kind of craving!
Please don't judge any of the common forbidden snack cravings listed, we cannot control the way our brains work. This may also introduce you to new snacks you haven't heard of! VERY few of these will be healthy, by the way, but they will all be vegetarian.
''Waxy'' textures (Candles, Bar soap, Lipstick, Crayons, etc.) Candy corn, mellowcreme candies of any kind, white chocolate
''Mineral'' textures (Rocks, Gemstones, Ice (ice is technically edible but you REALLY should not eat it), chalk, bath bombs, gravel etc.) Candy hearts, gummies in the shape of gems, rock candy, peppermints, Jolly Rancher hard candies, snowcones, pellet ice (a soft type of ice you can buy for low prices at fast food places and which is safe to eat), popsicles, edible chalk (available on Amazon.com)
''Moldable'' Textures (Rubber, Clay, Putty, etc.) Edible play-dough (recipes are easy to find online), eggless cookie dough (preferably with the flour baked by itself in the oven first to avoid potentially harmful germs), soft-serve ice cream (you can make it at home by aggressively stirring regular ice cream), any licorice or Twizzler sort of candy, SweetTarts ropes, fondant (in small amounts), bubble gum/chewing gum, Oreo cream, gummies
''Grainy'' Textures (Sand, powder, Kinetic sand, glitter, etc.) Sugar/powdered sugar/brown sugar (in small amounts), edible kinetic sand (recipe is easy to find online), luster dust, Cheerios or similar cereal ground into edible dust (this dust is safe for babies, too!), epsom salt (this is technically meant to be put in baths to help relax the body, but it is also edible!)
''Earthy'' Textures (Mud, dirt, etc.) Chocolate pudding, chocolate cake, ground-up Oreos, brownies
''Foamy'' Textures (Shaving cream, toothpaste, soap bubbles, fire extinguisher foam, etc.) Whipped cream, frosting (in small amounts)
''Fluffy'' Textures (Clouds, insulation, etc.) Cotton candy, marshmallows
''Soft-Crunch'' Textures (Cardboard, styrofoam, etc.) Ice Cream Cones (not the waffle kind), rice cakes, non-sweet cereals, popcorn, meringues, potato chips, wafer cookies, toasted marshmallows
''Nature''...stuff (Leaves, grass, tree bark, poison berries, nuts you wouldn't normally eat, twigs, etc.) Fresh lettuce and fresh spinach (those actually taste good unlike cooked spinach), wafer roll cookies, safe berries, almonds, popcorn again, sunflower seeds, pretzel sticks, sesame sticks
''Smooth Solid'' Textures (Pebbles, beads, etc.) Jawbreakers (careful), jellybeans, Lifesavers, basically any hard candy
''Viscous Liquid'' Textures (Glue, Motor Oil, Shampoo/Liquid Soap, etc.) Tea, Maple Syrup (in small amounts), smoothies/milkshakes, fruit punch
''Regular Liquid'' Texture (Water that may not be drinkable for one reason or another but still looks good, puddles, paint, etc.) Coffee, hot cocoa, water that is drinkable (possibly with food coloring in it to match what you want to drink), milk with food coloring, chocolate/strawberry milk
If there's anything I missed, please respectfully let me know!
