Wangji entered the pavilion and was immediately struck by the sight of Weiying lying lifeless on the bed. His skin was extremely pale, and red and blue scars marred his body, visible through the bandages wrapped around him.
As he approached, the healers greeted him, but Wangji didn’t acknowledge them.
“His condition is critical,” the head healer explained. “There are many wounds from spiritual weapons that are difficult to suppress. We managed to stop the bleeding and stitch them, but he has suffered significant blood loss. He’s malnourished and underweight—he hasn’t taken any of the medicine I provided last time, leaving a pouch behind. He only took what he could without water. His state isn’t good; we can’t say whether he will pull through. It seems he has already given up hope.”
“You can stay,” the healer continued, “but I’ll take a round of the pavilion to check on other patients. If you need anything, call for me.” With that, he left.
Wangji remained fixated on Weiying, his heart aching at the sight of him in such a fragile state. After a moment of hesitation, he reached out and grasped Weiying's hand tightly, begging him to wake up and say something. He murmured soft words of encouragement, but silence filled the room.
As the clock struck 1 AM, Wangji finally broke the stillness. “Weiying, Wei Wuxian, I don’t know how to process everything that’s happened between us. Our situation hasn’t been ideal; I know that. But you never told me why you’re unhappy or let me help you. I can see it in your face—you’re not content to be married to me. But despite everything, I’m happy to have you here.
Whenever I look at your pale face, it feels like I’m gazing at the moon—a sight that brings me comfort in my loneliness. You make me feel complete.
I’ve always been able to push through pain and control my emotions, but seeing you in pain suffocates me. I can’t describe how it feels right now; all I know is that I don’t like this. I want you beside me forever. I love you and will always love you. Please wake up...”
