Note to Reader: This is more of a fluff but it is romantic and worth a read. Also, every chapter connects so I'd suggest reading in order if you're also here for the plot 💗

It's currently 7:50 p.m. and my stomach is turning by how nervous I am. Having anxiety definitely doesn't help at all along with not knowing where Johnnie will be taking me tonight. But I trust that he'll take me somewhere nice and private because I know he get's anxious around people too. We always had that in common and it's one of the main things that brought us closer. My phone lights up, it's Johnnie sending me a text.

"Hey, just letting you know I'm on my way. I'll see you soon."

"Okay! I'll be waiting :)"

My heart is beating so fast that I can hardly gather myself to fill my lungs. I go to the bathroom and look myself in the mirror.

'Okay girl, just breathe. In... and out... Good. You're going to be just fine. It's just Johnnie!'

Johnnie, a boy I met just a couple months ago and quickly grew close to. I would have never thought that I'd be in love with him let alone hook up with him.And now that we're going on a date, I just want nothing more than for him to see how much I have truly grown to care about him and appreciate him. I check myself out one last time as the clock turns to 7:59 p.m. My outfit looks good and my hair is tied up into a ponytail with my bangs freshly trimmed. I'm wearing my usual black, smokey-eye makeup and vampire red lipstick and switched my vertical labret piercing from steel to black. I hear a knock at my front door. He's right on time.

"Holy shit." I say out loud to myself.

I open the door.

Johnnies POV:

The sight of her makes my heart flutter and without saying anything, I reach out my hand and give her the yellow tulips I bought for her, her favorite.

"Johnnie! For me? Stop it, I can't believe you remembered!"

She hugs me and I can immediately smell the sweet aroma of her perfume. I notice her makeup is put together perfectly as usual but this time, it just seems stand out more. She is absolutely stunning.

"Of course I do." I say smugly. "You look great by the way. Are you ready to head out?"

"Yeah, just give me a second to put these in a vase!"

I watch as she places her tulips in a vase and sets it on her kitchen table. She makes her way back to me, and we lock arms and head into the Uber. It's kind of embarrassing that I still haven't gotten my license but she's never seemed to mind. That's one of the many things I've always loved about her personality. She never judges anyone around her or make them feel inferior, in fact she tends to always light up any room she walks in and it seems like any person she meets leaves much happier than they were when they came in. She's never been afraid to allow everyone to be included.

We sit in the Uber and buckle our seatbelts and the driver starts driving us towards our destination.

   Readers POV:

"So, where are you taking me?" I ask, fiddling my fingers.

"You'll see. Don't worry, I know you'll like it."

Johnnie has never been one to surprise his friends with things so him doing this for me makes me feel so special. We sit in the car both looking out our windows and I feel his hand on mine and hold it. We look at each other smiling, my face blushes and he looks out his window again. As we drive, the passing headlights illuminate all the details of his face. His blue eyes glisten, his skin glowing, and the light accentuates the shape of his nose and jawline. I look back down at our hands admiring the bond the between us. We are entwined and for a moment I feel content.

The driver takes us up the steep hills of Griffith Park. I see now that we're heading towards the Griffith Observatory and my anticipation grows. Johnnie knows that I've mentioned this as a dream first date, only then was it just a fleeting idea. But little did I realize that he would be the one to make it a reality.

"We're here. Is this spot okay?" The driver asks.

"Yeah, this is fine! Thanks man." Johnnie responds.

The view from up here is breathtakingly beautiful. Johnnie takes my hands towards the edges of the building to get a better look.

"Wow" I say out loud, "Johnnie, you really did this for me?"

"Of course, I know how much you've wanted to come here."

We gaze out at the soft glow of the cityscape and the night sky is stretched out like a tapestry of stars. The skyscrapers are gleaming and streetlights glow below us. I feel a gentle breeze against my face and close my eyes and soak it all in, and Johnnie holds me from behind. His warmth seeps into mine and his chin is resting gently on my shoulder.

"Is this what you imagined?" He whispers into my ear.

My eyes roll back at the sound of his quieted voice.

"Yes, but even better." I tell him.

   Johnnies POV:

The sight of her looking out into the distance of the city is way more captivating than the view itself. I can't help but be enchanted by her presence. There's a magnetism about her that draws me in. The dips of her waist and my arms perfectly placed around them make me feel something I've never felt about anyone and I'm finding myself falling deeper in love. I turn her around and look down at her, deep into her eyes, softly placing her hair behind her ear.

"Johnnie..." She says quietly, leaning into me.

I place my lips delicately onto hers and we lose ourselves within each other. For a moment in time, the world around us disappears and I'm intoxicated by the feel of her tongue. I knew that I was home. I lift her up and carry her, pressing her against the wall. Her arms are wrapped around my neck and her legs are securely locked around my waist. Her fingers thread through my hair pulling me closer with each breath. Our lips are perfectly in sync and time stands still.

Her legs unwind and I release her. We stand there in silence and I stroke her cheek and I realize what I've been missing all my life. Her.

   Readers POV:

His hands on my face send tingles down my spine. His eyes look at me with intensity and passion and I look up at him the same.

"Johnnie, where the hell have you been all my life?"

"Waiting." He answers. His voice a mixture of longing and sincerity. He continues, "Waiting for someone like you, someone who sees me for who I really am."

His words hang in air, heavy with meaning. Everything I've ever known finally clicks into place. I reach for his hand knowing that from this point forward, we would be together.

We begin walking back to the parking lot, hand in hand under the moonlit sky and the city's hustle fades into the background. Johnnie orders an Uber and he takes me home. He walks me to my front door, holding my hands.

"I've had an amazing night." I say.

"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I had a good time too..." He pauses as if there was more for him to say but he stops himself.

"What is it?" I ask.

"W-well... If it's not too soon to ask, I'd love to hangout soon. Maybe you can come over this week?"

"Oh, uh yeah! I'd be down. If... that's okay with you. I don't want to smother you."

"Smother me? Please, you could never make me feel smothered. I... I can't get enough of you." He says softly.

I smile. "Then sure, I'd love to."

He smiles back. "Cool. Well, goodnight."

"Goodnight."

We end our date with a tender kiss. I go inside, replaying every moment of our night together and go to bed.
