Sophie loved her new doll. It was a gift from her grandparents for her birthday, a beautiful porcelain doll with curly brown hair and glassy blue eyes. She named her Emily and took her everywhere, treating her like a cherished friend.

But as the days went by, Sophie began to notice strange things happening in her room. She would wake up in the middle of the night to find Emily in a different position than where she had left her, or sometimes even in a different part of the room altogether. At first, Sophie brushed it off as her imagination, but as the occurrences became more frequent, she couldn't ignore them any longer.

One night, Sophie decided to tell her parents about what was happening. But when she tried to show them, Emily was sitting innocently on her bed, just like always. Frustrated and scared, Sophie insisted that Emily was moving on her own, but her parents just laughed it off, chalking it up to an overactive imagination.

Feeling defeated, Sophie decided to take matters into her own hands. The next day, while her parents were out running errands, she gathered up Emily and placed her in a box, determined to get rid of her once and for all. She walked to the dumpster outside their apartment building and threw Emily in, relieved to be rid of the source of her fear.

But as she walked back to her apartment, Sophie couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the air. It was as if the very walls of the building were watching her, waiting for her to return.

That night, strange things began to happen in the apartment. Drawers slammed shut on their own, lights flickered on and off, and a cold breeze filled the air, despite the fact that the AC was off. Sophie's parents were confused and alarmed, but Sophie knew the truth. Emily was still here, and she was angry.

As Sophie lay in bed, terrified and alone, she heard a soft whisper in the darkness.

"Come play with me, Sophie," it said, in a voice that sent shivers down her spine.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the whisper was gone. But Sophie knew that Emily was still there, waiting in the shadows, biding her time until she could claim her next victim.
