Chapter Two: Deal Made

I do not recall hitting the ground or what happened after that. I recall waking up feeling weightless. Oblivious to what had happened. Now I felt like I was in a dream, except I was fully awake and aware of my surroundings. I felt strangely certain of this fact.
A voice calling my name came into focus. It is the only sign of life in the barren white void.
"Leo.... Leo..." said an unknown voice.
"Who is there,"
I said with a hint of fear.
The voice declared,
"I am the goddess known as Yuri. I have awakened you to make a deal with you.”
I asked calmly,
"I am dead?”
Yuri impatiently responded,
"Yes, you are nothing more than a lone soul adrift in purgatory.”
Yuri said cautiously,
"Leo, I need your assistance... In my haste to find a hero to fend off the dark souls known in my world as demons. I unintentionally summoned a promising boy. But it turns out he is a little overly enthusiastic. About being a hero."
I inquired, "Too enthusiastic...?" unsure of her meaning.
Yuri said hesitantly,
“Well you see, there is a balance to things... "
Yuri quickly murmured,
"And well, people are not always what they seem..."
Leo laughed, "So you summoned a hero fanboy?"
*Yuri sighed*
Defensively Yuri said, "I am afraid it is worse than that, he is naive and clueless! Nonetheless, he has a pure heart. "He is just a little young and confused is all."
Leo prodded,
"Really? What makes you say that?"
Yuri sighed,
"He destroyed a village and helped enslave a whole platoon of the kings' knights... for a con man who convinced him the knights' armor had been stolen."
Yuri said eagerly,
"I just need you to befriend him and guide him in the right direction."
Leo grimaced,
"I am not interested in being a sidekick."
Yuri sounded agitated saying,
"I will give you whatever you want...
*Leo thought for a moment*
Leo muttered,
"Fine, I will babysit your hero until he completes his task."
Leo went on to say,
"In return, I want a twin sister and parents who love us equally. Also, you are going to need to make me as powerful as possible. Just in case your hero needs a dose of reality."
Leo added quickly,
"Oh, and I reserve the right to call upon you for future requests,"
Yuri growled,
"That is an absurd request,"
She howled,
"I am a goddess; I do not wait on or respond to anyone when summoned."
Leo replied,
"Well then, I am going to pass on the whole babysitting business."
Yuri scoffed,
“Fine, I will just pick another soul to reincarnate to do it then.”
*Long, awkward silence*
Yuri said faintly,
"Fine, but do not overuse it,"
Leo said now feeling bold,
"It appears you do need me,"
*And with that, their conversation ended. Leo lost consciousness for an unknown period of time.*
