Chapter 23: "I swear this generation is going to Hell."

"You should've listened to me Sarenda." His sinister smile sent chills down my spine.

"Sare!" The one person that had my heart screamed out.

"Ren!" I yelled as I tried to use all of my power to get her out of that man's grasp, but my legs couldn't go any faster. Tears ran down my face when I heard Ren repeatedly scream my name.

"You said that you'd protect me! Sare you promised me!"

The man let out a cruel laugh before a sound was made. A crack. Like bones crunching. Her bones crunching. He had his hands around her neck. As I got closer, her head was in a angle that should be impossible. His continued laughter grew louder and louder as time passed.

Every energy that I had suddenly vanished. Because there was no point in using it now. The reason for using it was gone. I wasn't strong enough, Soul fucking lied to me. I should've kept my distance from her. Then she wouldn't have died, we both could be laughing together right now.

"Ren." My voice sounded pathetic and frail. I fucking hate myself for letting my urges win. How could I be so weak?

"I told you Sarenda, don't fall in love with a girl. This is your fault."

"Ren!" I gasped out.

"What?" I heard a small voice groan out.

A sigh of relief escaped my mouth when I realized that it was just a dream. Ren was still in my arms and not killed by the man in the gray hat. She pulled out of my arms and sat up.

"What's wrong? Why are you shouting my name?" She asked while yawning out.

"Sorry, I just had a bad dream."

"What was it about?" Her murky green eyes studied me intently.

I smiled while shaking my head, "Nothing important."

"Okay. If you say so." I gave her a grateful smile.

WAKE UP

WAKE THE FUCK UP

RIGHT NOW-

I quickly turned off the alarm that was blasting from my phone. Ren raised an eyebrow at me.

"It's the only ringtone that wakes me up." I explained while giving her a shrug.

"Can I ask you a question?" Ren said while I got out of bed and walked to my closet.

"Shoot." I said while picking out an outfit for school.

"Why was I sleeping in the same bed as you?" I stopped moving to look at a Ren who didn't look mad, but simply curious.

"I was told to be with you at all times."

"I guess we're going to have to shower together then." Ren said while getting off of my bed and walking to the door.
