Liam groaned, as he closed the laptop. He had gotten up pretty early, and went over to sit at the table. He had been on the laptop for many hours, trying to find a new job that would suit him the most. Maybe one where his writing skills can come in handy, or at least one of these days, like Bryce suggested, he become a famous writer. But for now, so far the only jobs that seemed good were working in a library or a bakery.
Liam wasn't an expert when it came to baking, or cooking. He could make food just fine at the apartment, but if there was one thing he did like, it was freshly baked pastries. What could he say, in contrast to Bryce, he had a bit of a sweet tooth for stuff like cake and brownies. It could be option number two, but the library also sounded really good. I mean, the atmosphere there was nice and quiet, and he did like to read every now and then. Until he can find a way in, Liam was satisfied with being able to find at least something he was interesting.
Unfortunately, because he spent so much time staring at the screen, he started to feel some pain in his forehead. Bringing his hand up, and rubbing it against his head, he looked around the apartment. He could sleep it off, but he honestly wasn't too tired right now, plus he didn't feel like watching TV and making his headache even worse, so he decided that maybe a small walk might help. Or, maybe the fresh air might be good, he's been inside for hours anyway. Standing up, he walked over to the door, opening it, and going out of the apartment. Locking it, he made his way down the hall, still grimacing a little because of the pain intensifying a bit.
Once he made his way out the door, he walked down the sidewalk, he figured he could go down and relax at the park for a bit, if not many people would be there today, that is. As Liam watched a few cars pass by, he hoped that the sharp 'whoosh' noises wouldn't agitate his aches any further, but apparently it was too late, his head was already tensing up a bit from the sound. He picked up his pace, breathing a sigh of relief as he saw the park's entrance up ahead. Getting in, and finding a bench, he sat down, exhaling a bit. The sunlight was pretty warm, and it felt pretty nice on his face. Liam sunk a little, smiling.
Almost as if his mind had been read or something, not many people were at the park either. Maybe it won't be so bad out here, I mean, there's little noise, and the sun's heat seemed to be helping a bit, so Liam relaxed some more. Closing his eyes, he breathed in the fresh air, before what sounded like some vehicle stopping made his eyes snap open. He saw a school bus near the park's entrance, and his smile began to disappear. 'Oh god...please don't tell me..', he started, and his worries came true when he saw the door open, and a large group of little kids came pouring out. They were all screaming and shouting, and soon enough, they were everywhere in the park, running around, in circles, from left to right, all Liam could hear was the annoying sounds of little kids.
'Welp...this is my cue to leave...', Liam thought, sighing as he got up from the bench, and quickly left the park. So much for a peaceful day...and if that couldn't go anymore bad, the pain in his head seemed to get even worse. Great...he supposed he'd just go back into the apartment. Staring down at the ground as he walked, he jumped at the sound of a car honking. Holy crap, he needed to get out of here. He decided to just run towards the building, not caring if it was making his aching increase. The sooner he gets back in, the sooner he wouldn't have to deal with any more sounds outside.
As the elevator took him up, he let out another groan, feeling his head as it started to throb with pain. Oh god, if anything, the pain was now even worse than it was when he left the apartment. Now he wished he'd just go into bed, and sleep it off. The elevator dinged, and he went over to his and Bryce's door, unlocking it, and immediately closing the door. Still holding his hand up to his forehead, Liam hobbled his way over to the bed, flopping down onto it. He winched a little, as he felt another strike of pain wash through his head. He was actually starting to tear up a bit, it was getting pretty bad. 'Ugh, this sucks...why did I decide to go outside?!', he thought angrily. Liam closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down and drift off to sleep. But it was pretty difficult, and he knew it was going to take awhile.
About an hour later, and still no success of falling asleep. As his head throbbed more, Liam couldn't take it anymore, and let out a whimpered sob. Why did this have to happen?! Why didn't he just stay inside?! Why won't it go away?! He then thought about Bryce, and wished that he was here right now. But what if he comes back from work, and is feeling exhausted? Just thinking about this, a tinge of guilt started to enter his body. Oh god, what if Bryce also feels awful, but he would still feel compelled to help his boyfriend, all because of some stupid headache? He wouldn't be able to get any sort of rest himself, instead having to tend to his boyfriend's pain. The thought of this caused him to let out another choked sob. My god, he has to give Bryce a break, like he just got back from work, and now he has to deal with this...Liam's breath hitched in his throat, as he squeezed his eyes shut, pulling his knees up to his chest. With every breath he took in, a new sob seemed to bubble up in his throat.
He paused when he heard the sound of keys jingling from the other side, and the door clicking. 'Oh no, Bryce is already here'..., he thought. Sure enough, the door opened, and Bryce appeared with his work clothes. "Hey Lia-", he stopped when he saw the position that his boyfriend was in on the bed. Dropping his keys, he walked over to the bed, kneeling down. "Hey..uh, you okay?", he asked, with a concerned look. Liam looked over at Bryce, and that's when the other noticed the tears. "Woah, are you crying? Hey, what's wrong, love?", he asked, his eyes widening a little, bringing his hand over to his boyfriend's face. At this point, Liam just had to let it all out. He sat up, allowing the tears to flow down his cheeks more, as he reached for Bryce, and buried his face into his shoulder.
He felt the other's arms around his back, and Bryce swayed his body a little. "Hey..hey, what's wrong, Liam?", he gently asked. Liam looked up a bit, sniffling. "I..I'm sorry...it's just...I...I have this really bad headache...it..it hurts so much...", he started, sniffling through his words. "Ah...that sucks...you don't have to apologize for that..", Bryce reassured. Liam pulled away, looking at Bryce's face. "I...I just didn't want to bother you...since...you got back from work...you probably didn't want to deal with me...", he continued, but Bryce cupped his cheek, making him stop. "Hey, listen to me. Just because I get back from work, absolutely doesn't mean that I won't show any care or concern towards you. Dude, I'm always looking forward to seeing you when I leave work, and if you're dealing with something and need me, I'll always be there for you..", Bryce said, smiling gently.
Liam gasped a little, but started to smile as well. "Th..thanks hon...", he said. Bryce leaned in a bit, planting a kiss onto his forehead. "Anytime, love. Now, you wanna just relax in bed, maybe I can even help with the pain a bit?", he suggested. Liam nodded. "I actually think we have some medicine for headaches...let me go check..", Bryce said, getting up and going to the bathroom for a moment. If it wasn't for his aching head right now, Liam would've facepalmed himself. Why didn't he check for medicine in the first place?!
"Aha!", he heard Bryce exclaim in the bathroom, and he soon came out. "We got a little left.", he said, grinning. He poured some of the liquid medicine into a little cup, and brought it over to Liam. "Take this, it'll defiantly help...", Bryce said. Liam drank the cup, cringing a bit at the taste, and putting it over on the nightstand. The good thing was, now that Bryce was here, the pain already felt like it was starting to go away. "Alright, now scoot over..", his boyfriend demanded, and Liam chuckled a little, doing just that. Bryce sat down onto the bed, and motioned for Liam to come lay on him. He obliged, and Bryce brought his hands to Liam's forehead, slowly rubbing and massaging it. "I'm not too good at this, so tell me if this is working...", Bryce muttered.
Liam smiled, as he closed his eyes. It actually felt really good, he was starting to feel better already. "Keep going...it feels nice...", Liam said, and Bryce smiled. "Alright, whatever you say, love." He continued doing this, occasionally planting more kisses onto his forehead every now and then. Eventually, the two drifted off to sleep.
