My flatmate stares at me in awe. His eyes are wide as he shifts to take in my dress. "This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life." He waves his hands in a circular motion towards the dress. I can't do anything other than nod in awe with him. You could say that again. The dress still takes my breath away every time I see it. Tonight is the night to get it on show. A small smile pulls at my lips, imagining Sierra's face when I see her. Shaking the thought off, I turn around towards my vanity.
I had just got out the shower, Zack wanting to have a peak before he himself got ready. The schedule for the night was cab over to a bar with the team and then from there we head in a fancy limo to the Gala. My excitement was a jittering mess as I reach for my makeup bag.
After an hour, Zack and I walk into the hall, smiling at each other. "Damn girl, you're looking fine!" he whistles earning a laugh from me.
"You don't look to bad yourself!" We grin at each other as I take his arm and we leave the apartment. I double check that I have my keys in my purse before I move to the cab, confirming it was for McLaughlin.
The journey to the bar was filled with chatter, the cab driver interested in our formal wear. The driver was a lovely older man, a full, fat face and a grey wiry moustache. He was extremely kind. When we jumped out, he tipped his brown cap at us thanking us for making his ride enjoyable. When we face the bar, my chest constricts as I stare up at Sierra. It was as if the breath was knocked out of me when her eyes met mine, they widened as she rakes her eyes along my body.
Glancing over to Zack, I notice his frown before he moves in front to walk into the building. I watch Sierra as he mutters something to her when he passes before I follow to where he disappeared. Clearing my throat, I walk over to Sierra. She had a gorgeous red suit on, the blazer buttoned low enough that you could see the exposed skin of the dress. She didn't have a dress shirt underneath, the blazer perfectly hiding her breasts. I bring my eyes back to hers as she grins at me.
"Wow." I breathe and she chuckles, taking my hand and leading me into the bar. She looks at me with a look I couldn't quite decipher. It was almost like hunger. "You look incredible." I whisper in her ear, her head shifts to look at me, a small smile on her plush lips.
"So do you, American." She leans on the bar, a suave smile on her face. Her eyes trailing down my body causing goosebumps to raise over my skin. When the bartender comes over to serve us, we order our drinks, Sierra pays for them much to my chagrin. A couple minutes later I take a sip from my fruity cocktail. Not really sure what it was supposed to be but the ingredients were all things I liked, so I chose it.
We move to the rest of the group settled into a corner of the bar with a seating area. We shimmy in and enjoy the conversation with our friends.
After an hour the limo arrived to pick us up. We shuffle out in our fancy garbs. We weren't capable of hiding our excitement, especially after a couple of drinks on my part. When we reach the gala my breath is sucked from my chest, the huge building is incredibly beautiful. The elaborate architecture showing off its immense size.
My head spins round to the others, smiling at the others who all share the same revelation as me. We funnel out of the car and gather at the entrance. Sierra's hand slips into mine, my heartbeat picking up as we walk into the building. Mr Blanchett leading us into the main hall.
A uniformed waiter comes over offering us welcoming prosecco and I give him a big smile as I pick up the flute. "Thank you so much!" I smile and he offers me a curt nod in return before he turns to offer the same to my friends.
Taking in the huge golden ceilings and chandeliers I turn to Sierra, her eyes sparkling as she looks at me while taking a sip from her glass. I walk over to her, placing my now empty glass onto the table. Sofie walking over. She had on a baby blue dress that hugged her neck. The slit between her breasts showing just enough skin.
She looks around in awe, "I don't think I'll ever get used to this," she sighs and turns to me, "I remember my first time being brought along."
"This is more fancier than anything I have ever experienced." I look around and catch Mr Blanchett searching for us with Holland and Zack by his side. They catch my eye and walk over.
Mr Blanchett gives us one of his award-winning smiles. "Time for us to go to our dinner table."
