Joe

There were cops and EMT's in my dressing room, taking a statement from Andy and checking out Ashley's ribs. He was lucky enough to only have gotten away with one cracked rib.

I sat with Terry in my arms, holding onto her and holding an ice pack to her face, alternating sides every few minutes, to prevent her swelling up and bruising too badly. From what Andy said, he had hit her quite hard. She was still gasping for breath every once in a while; it must have been very traumatic for her. "Honey, that's not the first time he's gotten physical with you, is it?"

She looked at me, fear and helplessness exuding off her body and in her eyes. I held her close to me and whispered in her ear, "Honey, he will never get to you again. I swear it on my life. From now on, you'll always have someone with you and 90% of the time, it'll be me."

She nodded into my chest and watched as the cops hauled Purdy off. That man was all kinds of sick and twisted. Terry's phone rang and she looked at it, almost terrified of the incoming call. She answered gingerly. "Hello?"

The person on the other side of the line was shouting but I couldn't make out what, just that it was a man that was shouting. "Yeah, it's true. The cops just took him now."

There was more shouting and she responded, "No, nothing broken on me. Might have some swelling and bruising that the police will need to take pictures of. He has a cracked rib but the cops just hauled him off. It would have probably been a lot worse if Andy Hurley hadn't come in when he did."

This time there was no shouting but Terry responded after a while. "It wasn't your fault and there's no way you could have known what he was planning. I have to go now but give my regards to CC, Jinx and Jake."

There were a few more words then Terry responded, "Love you too Andy. Bye."

I looked at her for an explanation. "That was Andy Biersack. He's one of my closest friends and obviously, how I met Ashley. He had somehow heard about what happened, and wanted to know if I was okay."

I nodded and gave her a bottle of water and one of my pain tablets, "Drink up honey, you're going to need it."

For once, she did as I told her then asked me for a smoke. As we sat, sharing a smoke in silence, the rest of the band filed in. Patrick spoke up, "Ter, we feel horrible about this happening and we understand if you need some time off or just alone."

She shook her head, "I'm not letting him disrupt my life guys. I appreciate the sentiment but I will carry on with my life as normal."

Terry

Pete came up next to me and placed an arm around my shoulder, "You're a strong woman sweety. I'm glad we have you around."

I was starting to feel drowsy and drained from the events of the past two hours and addressed the room but mainly Joe, "Guys, I feel really crappy. Is it okay if I call it a night?"

They all nodded and, as I hoped, Joe said he'd go with me to the bus. He walked me to my door and at the door, kissed my lips softly. "Goodnight honey."

He started to walk away when I couldn't help myself and called out to him, "Joe!"

He turned around, "Yeah Terry?"

"Can you sleep with me tonight baby? I don't want to be alone." I was extremely surprised at the affection I had shown.

He smiled and walked back to my room where I stood aside and let him in. I excused myself to go to the bathroom and change while he stripped down to his boxers in my room. When I returned, he was already in bed, waiting for me. I crawled in next to him and laid my head on his chest with my one leg between his; craving closeness.

Before hitting the lights, he kissed the top of my forehead and repeated his vow to me, "I'll never let anything hurt you again honey. Goodnight."
