I sat down on the couch after pacing the room unconsciously, adjusting my skirt. It was 8:12 pm where I was, and since my best friend lived five states away, she was an hour ahead of me. Therefore, it was 9:12 pm where she was.
"I miss her. It's been years since we last saw each other. We graduated a couple of years ago, and now we're both in our junior year of college. She's doing well with her tennis career - she's currently ranked number 3 in the country, and she's climbing in the rankings."
"Emersyn, how long has it been since you and your extraordinary friend have seen each other in person? Every time we meet in this office, she's one of the main topics we talk about," my therapist asked, throwing a marshmallow pillow at my leg.
"It's been six years since we've seen each other. Facetime doesn't count. She's my ride-or-die, my day one. She's been everything to me and will always be everything to me. We never argue, fight, or bicker with each other. We just clicked ever since we became friends in middle school." I couldn't help but smile like a kid in a candy store, grabbing my phone I quickly checked the time before looking back at her.
