Cedar's POV
"Cedar, I don't understand why you won't talk to her. Not a quick 'Hey, Emersyn.' Talk to her, Yeah everyone knows Emersyn is shy but that doesn't mean unapproachable. You have been crushing on her since freshman year." Madeline said as she walked hand in hand with her girlfriend, Hugging both of them as we sat on the side of us. " Yes, I know. It's because she's so shy. I don't want to come off too strong and scare her I guess-"

"Excuses. Excuses. I tell you what, I heard from a little birdie that she'll be at Harper's Peak for the party tonight. Madeline and I are going, Frankie, Caleb, and Georgie are already going to be there come with us. We will all help you talk to her." Madeline smiled at her girlfriend before nudging her, "Fine I'll go.."

"Good,"

Third Person POV
"Oh my goodness Zo, I can't believe you're here." Wrapping her arms around Zo she let out another cry of happiness. "Are you okay, Is the family okay? Why did you come down here so fast?" Zo placed her hands on top of hers in a calming manner to ease whatever thoughts were coursing through her head. " No.No. Everything is fine, My parents and siblings are great. I came over because I wanted you to hear the news first." Zo laughed softly seeing the anticipated look on her face.

"So I'm pretty sure Syn told you I was away at tournaments all over the states, My last one was in Missouri a couple of weeks ago. Before I left a known recruiter, my teammates, including me have been trying to get the attention of since our freshmen year. His name is Adrian Santiago, and he is known for putting tennis players on the map. After my tournaments he reached out to me, their courts are here in Houston. He gave me the golden ticket to play for them and still be able to graduate college. Which also gave me a full ride to Houston University." Zo explained, Seeing Melina. Emersyn's mother. Jumped from the couch pulling Zo into a hug. Laughing as they spun around laughing together.

"That's amazing Zo! This is going to make Em so happy! Wait does she know that you're home?" Zo shook her head. "She doesn't know I'm home. I was going to surprise her today, She texted me earlier like fifteen minutes ago that she was on her way here. I was honestly going to just hide in her room."

"But as for now since she still has forty-five minutes before she gets home, Can I go to sleep? I've been up since eight this morning working out-"

"Zo, You've been a part of this family for a year and in my house more than my child. Go to sleep I'll wake you up when she pulls up," Laughing feeling Melina nudge her shoulder pointing to the stairs. Zo laughed as she walked through the living room towards the stairs to get to Emersyn's bedroom.

Zo couldn't help but look at the many pictures of her and Emersyn at various different points in life, twisting the doorknob Zo smiled at the decoration. "Hasn't changed since high school," Zo mumbled before squatting down untying her white and blush Nike dunks, stepping out of them she quickly used her good to push them to the side.
