As they came off the well, mini, stage i congratulated each boy.
"Awesome job guys!" I said.
"Aw thanks Sophie." Michael said smiling.
Each boy said thank you and then came Calum. He looked upset and didn't take his eyes off his shoes. We put the instruments back in thier cases and headed to my moms to pick up Cole.
"Calum you've been acting sad all night? You alright?" I asked placing my hand on his knee as he drove.
"No. I messed up." He said as we pulled into my parents driveway. "During I Miss You, I missed a chord and messed myself up." He put his head on the steering wheel and sighed.
"Yeah but Calum." I said rubbing his back. "You got back on track and did awesome. I'm proud you did it. Everyone messes up and you did well by getting back to it."
"Thanks Sophie." Calum said leaning over to peck my lips.
"Now c'mon let's go inside and get Cole." I said walking to the door.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Cole yelled running to us. "I miss you so so much."
"We missed you too buddy." Calum said hugging him.
"Hey Sophie can your father and I talk to you for a minute?" My mom asked.
"Yeah sure." I said following them into the kitchen. "Can Calum come in too?"
"If you can get Cole occupied then of course." She said.
"Calum can you come here for a minute?" I said.
"Okay. Cole wait here and play with the toys I'll be right back." I heard Calum say. "Sorry babe. Whats up?"
"Um, Sophie, Calum." My mother smiled. "Your father and I are getting a divorce."
"What?" I said a bit too loud. "Why? I-I" I stuttered.
Calum pulled me into his chest as I cried. My parents have lived the happiest life together and now it's gone.
"I'm so sorry." My mom said.
"No mom it's not. I realize you guys- you know what nevermind." I said grabbing my stuff. "C'mon Cole, were going home."
"Bye Gwandma and gwandpa!" Cole yelled as I picked him up.
"I'm so sorry." Calum said to my parents as we left. "Babe wait!" Cal yelled as I was putting Cole in the car.
I shut the door and looked at Calum.
"What?" I said harshly.
"Just." He paused and sighed. "Please calm down."
I breathed and looked at Cal. "I'm sorry."
"No no. It's alright, nothing to be sorry about, it is a hard time, but everything will be fine."
"Thank you Cal." I said smiling and hugging him. "I love you."
"I love you too." Calum said kissing my lips. "I love you so fucking much."
We deepened the kiss and heard Cole yelling.
"Mommy! Daddy! Stop it!" Cole yelled laughing slightly.
We pulled away and I put my hands on his chest. "You both are my whole life."
"I know." Cal said. "You both make my world complete."
I smiled and we climbed into the car. Cal drove home and I grabbed his hand as he drove. Looking back Cole was asleep and it was silent. Not even the radio was on, but it was a perfect silence. Everything in life was a bit low right now but, having my two favourite boys ever here was one of the nicest things. I wish my whole life could be like this and I wish it would never change. We got the three other boys who are like brothers to me, my husband and our son.
I want to stay like this forever.
