We knew we were facing Orphany's mortal enemy as soon as we saw Jack in front of us. Jack and his Phantom agent made us turn around again, lean on our knees, and point pistols on our heads. Ace: "Listen, if you're going to kill us, can we just reschedule another time?"
After I sarcastically asked, Jack replied,
Jack: "Go, wait for me outside"
Phantom Agent: "Yes, sir"
[footsteps thudding]
After the agent left, Jack anxiously kept pointing pistols at me and Pen's head. I was nervous and sweating about what Jack would do to us. Suddenly, he said,
Jack: "Don't move an inch, if both of you still want to live. I'm not here to kill both of you, I just want you to send a message to the Director. Tell him that I did not forget what he did to me. Tell him that Phantom is coming to hunt and take Orphany down."
After hearing what he said, I quickly asked him,
Ace: "What's your point in saying that?"
After I asked, I heard Jack sighed heavily and immediately talked,
Jack: "I was just like you two, did all the Director's dirty work and orders."
Pen: "Why not tell him that yourself??"
Jack: "After doing everything the Director asked, I was rewarded with a bullet."
After hearing that, Pen looked at me nervously and worried about what both of us heard from Jack. Were thinking the same, should we still trust Orphany and Charlotte? Are they just using us? Did Charlotte set us up? All of those questions are what I can see from Pen's facial expressions. We were both nervous and sweating, but we still managed to hide it from Jack who was at that point, holding our lives in his hands. Jack quickly followed up,
Jack: "Both of you should take friendly advice: get out while you're still breathing."
[footsteps thudding]
Jack stopped pointing guns at our heads and quickly walked away. Me and Pen anxiously got back on our feet and were extremely confused. I immediately spoke to Pen that Charlotte had set us up. But Pen doubted and denied me hard and said that Charlotte wouldn't betray us after everything she had done. Pen and I rushed to our apartment and tried to call Charlotte but she was not answering. We tried to contact Alex (The Director) and thankfully, he answered.
[Ace and Pen breathing heavily]
Ace: "Sir? It's us, Ace and Pen. We were held at gunpoint by Jack, sir."
Pen: "He told us the reason why he was planning to take Orphany down, sir."
After telling Alex, he responded anxiously,
Alex: "What...? How did Jack get to you both?! What did he tell..."
Ace: "Sir, he told us about some dirty jobs that you made him do, he also said you betrayed him, sir! Did Charlotte betray us? Is any of these true, sir?"
Alex: "Well... believe me, I don't know what he was talking about... umm... that's the least of our problems for now, good thing he didn't kill both of you. Our operation is ready to be executed soon. I know that Charlotte called both of you and I know that she was really busy that she wasn't able to attend the meeting she set for you both. She didn't know Jack was going to ambush you there..."
After hearing what The Director said, I and Pen calmed down... but what Jack told us still echoes in my mind. After a few days, on December 15, 2006, a few weeks before Christmas, The Director wanted us to execute the mission before even changing the year. We drove to Miami, Florida, to a port, and from there, we boarded an Orphany boat.
