Part 8: The Final Standoff (Finale)

After Jay called for backup, we three expected the operation to go a bit easier as we had backup Operatives in case we got compromised.

ACE
Are they here yet?

JAY
They're almost here. Keep your voice down, agents...

After waiting for a few minutes, the Operatives and Agents finally arrived at our location. They provided us with durable bulletproof vests and powerful suppressed assault rifles.

PEN
This will come in handy.

JAY
It certainly will. Are we ready to breach?

OPH OP
We're ready, sir.

JAY
Alright, let's surround the mansion. We'll make sure no one gets out of here alive. (to Ace and Pen) Get into position.

Pen and I quickly got in position carefully as we didn't want to be spotted before entering the mansion. While trying to walk around, we heard one of the operatives through the earpiece...

OPH OP 2
Sir, looks like we got another enemy. A bunch of convoys suddenly came out of the trees.

JAY
Yeah, we have two convoys on the west side of the mansion. Pen? Could you try and connect us through their radios? We need to know who they are, they don't seem like Phantom Agents to me.

PEN
Alright, hang a second. This won't take long.

As Pen was busy connecting our radios to the other unknown agents, I took charge and swiftly scanned the area with my binoculars to locate any other enemies. After a few minutes, Pen talked to our earpieces...

PEN
Shoot... Jay? Bad news.

JAY
Go ahead, we're listening.

PEN
I couldn't gain access to their radio systems, but I was able to listen in. Unfortunately, I overheard some alarming news. A government organization called Steel Nexus is here to obtain important files related to Phantom.

JAY
Dang it, we should take 'em out right here right now. Are we ready? Hell's about to get loose.

ACE
In position.

OPH OP's
We're in position, sir, permission to open fire and infiltrate the mansion.

JAY
Alright, in 1...2...3... open fire.

ACE
FIRE!!!

[suppressed gunshot sounds]

[bullet impacts]

And after, we raided the mansion and killed any enemy we saw, including Steel Nexus agents. When we got to the front gate, we had an intense shootout with a turret.

PEN
You got any ideas?!

[turret shooting]

ACE
We need to take out that damn turret!

[Ace tries to return fire]

I tried to return fire but I was almost shot in my left shoulder. Our cover is almost torn off and if we try to run to change cover, we will most likely get shot in an instant.

[bullet impacts]

PEN
Ace?! Do you still have that grenade they gave you?

ACE
Oh yeah! How come I forgot about this?!

After grabbing the grenade, I triggered it and threw it at the turret's location, which made it of course explode and finally destroy the turret which gave us headaches.

[grenade explosion]

[Ace and Pen stand up]

PEN
Alright, let's get going.
