I woke back up in my room, in bed. I looked around it was dark. I looked at my alarm clock, and it was 11:35 pm.

I noticed a note on my table and grabbed it, reading it.

"You fell asleep at school, and I just took you home. Your dinner is in the oven, and feel free to do whatever you want to for the next few weeks. Losing a friend is hard, and I know it will take a while for you to have the strength to keep going. Talk to me when you're up to it. I love you, dad."

I took a deep breath and looked over at the wall of photos I had, staring at the group photo of me, Andrew, Ethan, and Dillan. We had a lot of memories together.

By then, I also haven't heard from Ethan at all. Ever since that fight between Andrew and Vicky, he went radio silent. I didn't see him at school either.

...

I grabbed my phone and called his number, waiting for him to pick up, but it just kept ringing.

I kept calling over and over, but no one ever answered.

I jumped out of bed and started putting on my shoes and my jacket, I was thinking about the worse too.

What if Ethan was dead just like Dillan and no one knew? What if he just disappeared? What if he was in he hospital? I needed to know.

I grabbed my key to the house. My dad only ever got me a copy because he lost his own key one time, and we had no other way in.

I went downstairs and left the house quietly, locking the door behind me. I grabbed my bike and got on, riding over to Ethan's house.

As weird as it was to leave this late, I kept going until I heard barking.

Loud barking. Like it was right behind me.

...

I turned around and saw a big mutt running after me while I rode over to Ethan's house, I hate dogs.

I started moving faster while it continued matching my speed, getting ready to pounce on me.

I kept going and got ready to jump off my bike and make a run for it, I just needed to be closer to Ethans house, though, before I did that.

...

I jumped off my bike and made a run. Unfortunately, I tripped on a rock and fell, and the mutt was still after me, so guess what happened to me.

The mutt jumped on me and instantly started attacking me, I screamed as I tried pushing it off or moving it away, but it wouldn't work.

I just kept trying to bite me. Eventually, I gained any strength I had and punched it directly in its head.

It must've been hard considering I heard it cry for a second and running away from me, I stood up and started running again. Leaving my bike behind.

I had to hurt it since there was anything else I could really do.

I pulled my hoodie up and looked around the neighborhood. It's creepy out here.

I made it to his house and looked around. His parents' cars were parked, so there were definitely people there.

I hopped over their fence and looked through the windows, call me creepy if you want to. Hearing a knock close to midnight is creepy.

I saw his parents sleeping and the house looked really messy, their room was clean but everywhere else in the house wasn't.

I started climbing up from the side and looked through the window, I saw Ethan on the floor with something sharp in his hand.

He looked like an absolute mess, like he hadn't slept in days. I hesitantly knocked on his window, and his eyes immediately shot towards me. I also saw a small plastic bag, which, I could assume, was weed or candy from the store.

He stood up and opened up the window, pulling me inside before closing the window back up. I was on the floor while he moved away from me, grabbing that same bag and putting it away.

I stood up and looked around, and I'm not exaggerating when I say the entire room was completely destroyed.

There were so many piled up clothes everywhere, and his bed was upside down . The only thing that was still the same was his desk and his TV.

His carpet flooring had a bunch of questionable colored stains, too.

...

"Ethan... are you okay?" I said, trying to break the silence. At least it didn't smell bad in here.

He looked at me and then slowly looked around before shaking his head, lowering it afterward.

I walked over to him and pulled him in for a hug, his face slightly lightened up, and he hugged me back. He quickly broke down in tears before saying things I couldn't really understand.

I pulled him over to his bean bag and sat him down, grabbed another, and sat down across from him.

"Eli, I can't do this anymore. Vicky broke up with me because I couldn't control Andrew, and the fact that Dillan also died two days later hurts." he said, while tears till dripped down his face.

"Ethan, I'm sad about Dillan too, but you can't let yourself get like this. It's just gonna make things worse." My eyes slightly watered. Truthfully, I knew we were never gonna get over Dillan, and eventually, we'd go insane over it.

Ethan nodded and covered his eyes with his hands as he continued to sob, letting everything he felt out. I comforted him while he did so, eventually crying with him.

I really don't know what happened after cause when I opened my eyes back up, it was bright outside. It looked dull from here.

Ethan and I were on the floor. Now that I got a better look of him, I could see how awful he really was feeling.

His hair was a complete mess, his face had broken out and his clothes...

...

I needed to help him. Living like he was now wasn't okay. Especially when his parents looked like they were perfectly fine meanwhile, their house and their only son were not.

I woke Ethan up, and he rubbed his eyes, I told him to wash up and fix himself while I fixed his room.

He agreed and went downstairs while I stood up and got started with cleaning his room. So much damage was done.

...

Eventually, I got it done and found his phone. It was completely wrecked. I tossed it out, and he came back as good as new. I don't know how he gets rid of breakouts, but his skin looked fine minus some bandaids.

He thanked me and hugged me again, I told him I'd come back later. I needed to check on everyone else.

He agreed and opened the window back up, letting me climb back down.

I left and ran to Darlie's house until I remembered something. On the news, they mentioned a criminal escaping, but they never said they caught said criminal.

"Vivian Howard poses as something she's not..." I said to myself.

Was this all her? Was she ruining the atmosphere in the school? I thought to myself and remembered the photo they showed of her.

Blonde hair, brown eyes, pale skin. She looked awfully a lot like Mist-

...

No. No way. It can't be. But then, realization sunk in.

When I got beat up by Jason, she didn't do anything. She watched.

When Dillan died, I never saw her bike or anything that first half of the day and the day before that.

When that girl died back in February, she was nowhere to be seen when lockdown happened.

It all made sense now, I didn't have any evidence that was strong enough to prove it, though.

They could never trace back who killed them.

Even though Misty rejected me, I still loved her. If she was actually doing this, I would never be able to fucking forgive her. She took my best friend from me.

...

This sucks.
