*Yuuki's P.O.V*

As I came to consciousness, I noticed that I'm soaking wet. Chills rolled down my spine as I shivered, opening my eyes to see blurs everywhere. I sat where I was for a few moments, waiting for the blurs to go away. When they left I saw Carter on a rock just a little bit above me. He was either dead, or just knocked out. I pushed myself up to see that we were on a bunch of rocks. I looked behind me to see a river a large flowing river.

I started to look around to my left where I saw Emily, and she was up and coughing. I got up, swaying a bit on my feet from my sudden dizziness. I stood as still as I can, waiting for the it to pass over. Once my dizziness was gone, I walk over and pat Emily's back to help her cough up whatever she was coughing up. I looked over to where Carter was and I see that he changed positions. He curled into a ball as if he was sleeping. Once I helped Emily up and got her to stop coughing I walked over to where Carter was.

"Hey, Carter, wake up!" He opened his eyes, glancing at me before turning around to face the other way. I rolled my eyes and walked down to the river to pick up a bit of water. I cupped my hands together, scooping a small amount. I saw that it was clean, well, clean-ish. I dipped my tongue into it. It's fresh.

Thank god we got fresh water! Now all we need to do is get it filtered and bam, we got water.

I looked up to see a empty water bottle along the side of the river. I walked over to get it, bending down and taking it into my hand. When I stood upright, looking at the river, I saw something I really don't want to see again.

"Carter! Emily!" I ran back to where they were to see that they are up and were heading my way. I grabbed their arms, pulling them over to where I was at. "Look," I said as I pointed to what I saw. Both looked revolted and sad. I turned back around to see Caroline dead with a branch stuck through her chest. Her hair, instead of being a bright bleach blonde, was blood red.

"She was only eight!" Carter said from behind me.

These men killed an eight year old girl! This is real, isn't it? We're all going to die, well, not unless I have anything to say about it.

I gripped the water bottle in my hand and walked back to where we were. I pulled my shoe off to grab the metal nail file and emergency tampon I always have up my jeans. I filled the water bottle until I got it to rip in half. When I ripped it in half, I opened the tampon. As I did, Carter was looking at me weirdly.

"Next time tell me you're on that thing," he said.

I rolled my eyes at him. "I'm not on it, I'm just getting us water."

I pushed the cotton up, taking it out. I grab the top half of the bottle that I cut up, and I put the cotton in the spot the cap is supposed to go. I then went over to the river, filled the top half, and I let the water filter through the cotton and into the bottom half of the bottle. "There, fresh and clean water." I handed the bottle to him. He pushed it away, cringing.

"There is no way I'm drinking that."

"It's just cotton, and we wouldn't have to even be doing this if you didn't leave the water in the tree!" I shouted at him.

"Well, it's not my fault you were the one who thought, Hey I'm Yuuki. Let me fall out of a tree, then throw a rock at Carter so I can laugh my head off to get us all noticed," Carter mocked me.

"At least I'm trying to keep us alive and get us water!"

"It's not very good water!"

"Water is water, so get over it and drink it!"
