Chapter 4:

As Esme drove Edward's Volvo Jasper sat in the backseat with a now asleep Alissa who had passed out from exhaustion.

As Jasper and Esme looked worriedly at the girl they drove up to house stopping the car before Esme sped to where Jasper was holding Alissa.

As the two Cullens began to walk up to the house the door was opened by a worried Alice who glanced at the girl in worry.

"I saw. I don't know how considering she's a mutt's mate but I can see her." Alice said as Jasper and Esme shared a confused glance but nodded.

Walking in they were met with the rest of the family and before Jasper could blink Rosalie had sped forward and grabbed the sleeping girl before speeding her to the couch as she and Emmet placed a blanket over her and watched her with love, concern, and protectiveness.

"Rosalie honey?" Esme question as she walked forward only to he met with a hiss from Rosalie who stood in front of Alissa protectively.

Esme gasped and stepped back in shock as Carlisle spoke up.

"Rosalie? Esme? Who is this girl? And Rosalie what is with you? You've been acting weird ever since Alice spoke to you moments before Esme returned." Carlisle spoke with a firmness showing he wanted answers but held a soft undertone to show them he was not a threat or angry.

Rosalie simply ignored her coven leader and father, simply continuing to look over Alissa with worry.

Alice who stood watching this sighed and took the initiative to speak.

"Everyone meet Alissa. Jacob Black's imprint and Rosalie and Emmet's soul daughter." Alice said as the rest of the coven, excluding emmet and Rosalie, looked to Alice in confusion.

"How is that possible? Not only is she mated to a mutt but she must be at least 18." Edward said as Alice sighed, leaning back into Jasper who wrapped his arms protectively around his pixie mate.

"I have no idea but I do know that she is only 16, left La Push when she was 13 and suffering because of that mutt Jacob Black." Alice spat as her eyes darkened at the thought of the mutt.

"What do you mean suffering Alice?" Carlisle asked as Alice sighed and turned to Esme who nodded and took over.

"Honey... Jacob has been rejecting the bond and making Alissa suffer by kissing Bella or touching her in some way so Alissa can't sleep or eat properly." Esme said as Carlisle and Edward's eyes darkened and combined hisses came from Rosalie and Emmet who curled around the girl in means to protect her.

"I see. Well then the only logical thing to do is keep her here to recover. Jasper and Edward please go inform Samuel Uley. I will call him while I require some medical supplies to get fluids and food in her. Alice you get some clothes for Alissa to wear and Esme my love please clean the guest room and set it up so she can be comfortable." Carlisle said as each Cullen nodded and sped off to complete the task while Rosalie and Emmet stroked their daughter hair as they felt concern and love watching her.

Alissa somehow relaxing in her sleep, feeling a sense of want and love that she had not felt before spreading through her.

- One Week Later -

Alissa giggled as she watched Edward attempt to beat Emmet and Jasper in Mario cart and Alice and Rosalie sat next to her braiding her hair. Esme and Carlisle making her lunch despite her decline's.

"Hah! Take that Eddie!" Emmet yelled as Jasper and Edward groaned and Alice and Rosalie gave them a look, trying not to laugh.

In the past week Edward and Jasper had loosened up as had the other Cullens, all of them becoming more protective of the young girl.

Surprisingly the pack had been ok with the fact that the Cullens had a connection to Alissa; hoping they could help her heal in a way they couldn't.

They may be enemies but Alissa was a special light that they didn't want to dim. And if getting help from their enemies helped them so be it.

They had even Alpha ordered Jacob to stay away from Bella so Alissa could heal better.

Something Jacob seemed to struggle with as he also had Alpha blood.

"Alright here is a salami, pepperoni, and ham sandwich with ketchup, mustard, and fries with a side of buffalo sauce and a Coca Cola!" Esme said as Alissa took the plate, thanking her aunt figure who simply smiled and waved, returning to Carlisle's side as they sat in the love seat.

As Alissa ate Alice, Jasper, and Edward snickered at the concerned face Emmett and Rosalie made while looking at her food.

"You need to drink lots of water after this honey." Rosalie said as Alissa smiled softly at her mother figure.

"I'm ok mama. Besides I'm starting to eat full meals now!" Alissa said as smiled at Rosalie whose face melted at her daughter's words.

"Your mother's right. That mutt made you suffer enough and we need to keep you healthy." Emmet said as Alissa flinched at the word mutt causing emmet to sigh in guilt.

"I'm sorry sweetie. I know you don't like taking about him or us talking about him like that." Emmet said as Alissa smiled softly at her father.

"It's ok papa. Besides, I have you guys. And that's more than enough." Alissa said softly before huffing her father who smiled and hugged her tightly as the rest of the Cullens joined in, the love for the young girl practically visible in the air.
