Chapter 24

"COME ON SHINAZUGAWA! PULL IT TOGETHER!"

"My body isn't falling apart. If i pull these swords out, i can still regenerate! Im not dead yet. But he is. The effects of his sword, and his blood demon art will soon disappear. Then i will overcome death by decapitation!" 

"That bastard regenerated his head! Dammit!! ARGH!" Sanemi. 

"Keep attacking!! His heads just come off, so his body must be fragile!! He isn't regenerating as fast as Muzan can!! Go for the throat again and again!"

"I overcame it. Now any other attack other than sunlight... is meaningless! Now.. no one can beat me!" 

"My brother, is your dream to become the storngest samurai in the land? I want to be like you. I want to become the second strongest samurai." A voice in Kokushibos head murmured. Then the two area where Kanao and Muichiro stabbed dhim started to decay. It was disintergrating. 

"?! My body is falling apart where Muichiro stabbed me. DAMMIT. Use a technique! A technique.. i cant use a blood demon art!! No. no. Not yet. I should still be able to regenerate. I haven't lost yet. I still-.."

Yes. In front of Sanemi and Gyomei they see the Upper Rank 1 demon slowly fall apart. It was slowly fading away, separating into small pieces and into dust. He was gone. Gyomei walked over to the last piece of his head, watching it disappear. Sanemi however, kept on going in for another attack.

"SHINZAUGAWA!! STOP ATTACKING!! THE DEMON IS NO LONGER REGENERATING!" He yelled, but Sanemi went against him and aimed for that last piece of Upper Rank 1's head before Gyomei pulled him back by the neck.

"Shinazugawa! Its over!! We defeated the upper rank 1! The fight is finished.. Its already over!! He looked over his shoulder, Sanemi was unconscious however he was still moving. The rock hashira looked over to his side. He saw Genya, lying down, chopped in half, bleeding out to his death. 

"Himejima.. My brother... Im ok.. tend to Sanemi..quickly." Genyas voice was weak. He was still alive but for how long? Gyomei then rushed to Muichiros aid. He was badly injured and his breathing was faint. Sanemi on the other end slowly started to open his eyes, before the realisation of his brother dying hit him. 

"WAHHHHHHHHHH!! What going on?! His body.. Why is his body crumbling like a demons?! No! Nooo!" Sanemi looked over at his brother, bleeding to death,

"Sa.. Sanemi." He whispered softly.

"DON'T WORRY! I'LL HELP YOU! YOUR BIG BROTHER WILL HANDLE IT SOMEHOW!" For once in a very long time, tears formed. They trickled down his cheeks. 

"Sanemi, im sorry. Im sorry for criticizing you. That one time.. Sorry for always troubling you.." 

"YOU NEVER TROUBLED ME EVEN ONCE!! DON'T DIE!! YOU CAN'T DIE BEFORE ME!!" His voice cracked, it showed depths in his emotions even more as he began noticing, Genya was fading away just like how Kokushibo did.

"Thank..you.. for protecting me. I wanted to protect you, the way you protected me.. We feel the same way.. because we're brothers. You have suffered so much.. so i want you to be happy. I don't want you to die... because my big brother.. is the nicest person..in..this world."

"AAAGH! PLEASE! PLEASE PLEASE! PLEASE DONT TAKE MY LITTLE BROTHER AWAY!!!" He buried his head near Genyas as he couldnt accept this.

"Th.. thank you..big..brother.."

Then a gust of wind passed by. It was the cherry on top for his death as all the rest of his body faded away.

"NOOO! GENYA!! AAGHH! GENYAAAA!"

"Shinzugawa.. we must go. Raise your head. This isn't over until we defeat Muzan. The others have already left. I know this is hard for you to deal with, but you need to accept this tragedy. Lift your head up and move forward. Muzan Kibutsuji is still alive."
