THERE ARE PARTIES, AND THEN THERE ARE HUGE, MAJOR, BLOWOUT PARTIES. And then there are Olympian parties. If you ever get a choice, go for the Olympian.
The Nine Muses cranked up the tunes, and Aurora realized the music was whatever you wanted it to be: the gods could listen to classical and the younger demigods heard hip-hop or whatever, and it was all the same soundtrack.
No arguments. No fights to change the radio station. Just requests to crank it up.
Dionysus went around growing refreshment stands out of the ground, and a beautiful woman walked with him arm in arm – his wife, Ariadne. Dionysus looked happy for the first time.
Nectar and ambrosia overflowed from golden fountains, and platters of mortal snack food crowded the banquet tables. Golden goblets filled with whatever drink you wanted.
Grover trotted around with a full plate of tin cans and enchiladas, and his goblet was full of double-espresso latte, which he kept muttering over like an incantation: "Pan! Pan!"
Amidst the pulsating rhythms of the party, Aurora found herself swept up in the throng of dancers, her movements synchronized with Annabeth's as they twirled and laughed under the celestial canopy.
They have changed their attire with just a wave of Aphrodite's hand, in an instant, their worn and tattered quest attire was replaced with flowing Greek chiton dresses, beautiful and elegant.
As the music swelled and the crowd enveloped her, she realized with a pang that Percy was no longer by her side. Excusing herself from the dance floor, she began to weave through the sea of revelers in search of him.
Just as she was about to give up hope, a familiar voice called out to her.
Turning, she saw her father, Apollo, standing with a warm smile on his face amidst the festivities. She couldn't help but return the smile as she made her way over to him.
"Aurora, my beautiful sunshine," Apollo said, his tone proud and admiring as he embraced her.
"Hey Dad," she said.
"You have faced incredible challenges on the quest, and you have emerged stronger and wiser than ever before. I couldn't be more proud of you," he said, his voice carrying a tone of genuine admiration.
Aurora's cheeks flushed with warmth at her father's praise, a sense of gratitude swelling within her.
"Thank you, Dad," she replied, her voice tinged with emotion. "I couldn't have done it without my friends."
As he spoke, Apollo gently took Aurora's right wrist in his hand, his fingers tracing the sea-green trident mark that adorned her skin, its glow a testament to her destiny.
