I found myself growing fond of Ivan, as I always spent most of my time with him since he was the only friend I had in school. One day, Ivan invited me for dinner at his house. I accepted the invitation since it was during the weekend.
Ivan came to my house and picked me up on a Sunday evening to go to his house. When I arrived, I couldn't stop staring at different places in the house. His house was very big and beautiful, clearly showing that his family was wealthy. We walked in, and there was his family sitting at the dining table. Immediately, my heart sank. I didn't know it was a dinner with his family; Ivan had never mentioned anything about his family to me, so I thought it was going to be just us. I walked slowly as I followed Ivan from behind. We went straight to sit on an empty chair that was left, as it seemed like they were all waiting for Ivan and me to arrive. We got seated, and Ivan introduced me to his family as we all began to eat. No one said anything while we were eating; they were rich people who followed table etiquette, I thought to myself.

"What's your name again?" Ivan's father asked me, pausing his eating for a moment.

"Suana," I hurriedly answered.

"That's a very nice name," he smiled and continued to eat.

"How did you meet Ivan, Suana?" he asked in a friendly tone."At school, sir," I answered.

"Oh, I see.

What do your parents do?" Ivan's father inquired, and immediately, I stopped eating, my heart beating faster.I didn't know what to say because my dad was unemployed at the moment, and only my mom had a small shop where she sells snacks.

"What do your parents do?" he asked again.

"My mom sells snacks," I answered with my head down.

He smiled suspiciously and asked, "Your mom sells snacks? What does your father do then?"

I was so ashamed that I couldn't say my dad was jobless.
She's not even rich," Ivan's sister, who had been busy with her phone there, finally spoke.
She laughed and asked how a poor girl like me could even become friends with Ivan.
"Stop it, Nina," Ivan angrily cut his sister off.
I couldn't say anything; I just started crying.
"How can your mother be a snack seller and you be friends with my son? Do you even know the level you are?" his father said as he looked at me.
Meanwhile, Ivan's mom stayed quiet and didn't say anything the whole time; she just looked like she was pitying me.

"Dad, don't talk to my friend like that. Just because her mom sells snacks doesn't mean she is not human," Ivan said with pain and anger in his voice. Suddenly, I stood up, thanked his parents for the food, and walked out crying.
It took a while before Ivan came out; I guess he was talking to his parents. He apologized for his parents' behavior, but I couldn't blame him. He is from a rich family, so he should make friends with people from the same level as him. I told Ivan not to worry about me, that I was used to being treated that way. Then suddenly, Ivan hugged me and reassured me that everything was going to be fine.
I don't know why I always feel comfortable and safe around Ivan.I think I really like Ivan.
At this point, my heart flutters.

"I will always be there for you as I promised Suana,". "It doesn't matter what my parents or anyone else thinks of you. As long as I'm okay with it, I don't care." Ivan hugged me tightly.
I didn't know if it was okay to like Ivan or not, but I know I'm already falling for him.

"We are not on the same level, and besides, your family doesn't like me. Do you think we can continue this friendship, Ivan?"I said while sobbing, "Ivan, ," released me as he was hugging me.,he held my face, and I found myself looking into his eyes.

"I feel happy whenever I'm with you, Suana. I can't stop thinking about you when I'm not around. My world feels empty without you in it. I really love you, Suana," he confessed, causing my heart to skip a beat.
"I don't care about anything else. All I care about is you, Suana.he continued""But, Ivan..." I couldn't finish my statement when Ivan held me closer and kissed me. Suddenly, I felt like I couldn't breathe. The whole thing didn't seem real to me, but it was surely one of the best moments of my life. I held Ivan so tight as we continued to kiss.
