SUMMARY: Kageyama and Hinata are finally alone to discuss what comes next***
Hinata melted into Kageyama's arms, tucking his face into the crook of his neck and snaking his arms around his middle. He sighed, long and deep, allowing himself to truly relax for the first time in nearly two weeks. He let the feeling of relief and contentment drape over his body like a warm blanket.
"Thank you. For coming for me," he murmured against Kageyama's skin. The familiar scent and the hard strength of Kageyama's body were comforting.
"There was never any question," Kageyama answered as he pressed a kiss to Hinata's temple.
"You told him... I mean, you said I was yours."
Kageyama squeezed him tighter. "You are. I mean, if that's what you want."
Hinata smiled against Kageyama's neck. "Yes, I do. So much."
"Good," Kageyama said. "You better get used to telling people I'm your boyfriend, 'cause I don't want to have to go around killing anyone who touches you."
Hinata laughed, "You're not going to kill everyone who touches me. Just the bad guys, right?"
Kageyama grunted noncommittally, and Hinata softly chuckled. The confession should have set off warning sirens, Hinata realized with the logical part of his brain, but instead, it just felt right, like it was what he needed to hear after his ordeal. He was fucked up, for sure, but he and Kageyama could be fucked up together, he supposed, and he didn't give two shits.
Hinata held on to Kageyama for a moment, reluctant to let go. He was surprised when Kageyama quietly admitted, "I don't know what I'm doing, Sho. I don't know how to be in a relationship."
Hinata leaned back to meet Kageyama's gaze and offered him a small smile. "That's okay. I'll teach you."
Kageyama frowned a little, and Hinata found it endearing that a lethal killer could look so impossibly cute. "What if I mess up?" Kageyama asked.
Hinata allowed himself to chuckle, despite not wanting to hurt Kageyama's feelings. "I'm sure you will. And I will too."
"And then what?"
Hinata reassured him, "Then we'll figure it out. Work it out together. Make up, have sex, and move on."
Kageyama squinted his eyes, looking doubtful. "That's how it works? You just make up and forget it?"
"Yeah, for the most part. Unless you do something horrible."
"Shoyo, I do horrible things all the time. It's literally my job."
Hinata laughed. "No, I meant something horrible to me. Like cheat on me."
Kageyama looked confused. "Why would I do that when I have you? No one can compare."
Hinata felt his face flush. "And you should keep saying stuff like that. It gets you bonus points."
"Huh?"
"Just keep saying stuff like that. I like it."
Kageyama was still scowling slightly. "So you won't be mad when I make mistakes?"
"Oh, I'll probably be mad, but I'll get over it. We're partners, so we'll work it out, right?"
"How the fuck should I know? I just told you I'd never done this before," Kageyama retorted, looking sulky again.
Hinata laughed and placed a quick kiss on Kageyama's lips. "We will."
"If you say so. Now, let's get you to bed," Kageyama insisted, examining Hinata's face. "You must be exhausted."
