The doorbell rings. "I'm gonna go get it!" James yells as he jumps over the couch to get to the door. "Na ah! I'm first!" Robin is faster then James and reaches the door first. "Alyssa Maria Nelson, the envelope." A guy says in a black suit with a black tie and black sunglasses. Weird.
"Mommy! This man needs an envelope!" The boys don't know about what happend a month ago. It's the new year now. I walk over to the door and greet the man. "Hey. I burned the envelope, burned it in ash."
"You know what that means then Ms Nelson, see you in court." The man turns around and leaves. "Alright, spill. Court?" Robin asks with his arms crossed.
"Is uncle Daniel in trouble? He works in court." I shake my head. "No, no. I think I gotta tell you both something, go sit down." The boys run back to the couch. I take a deep breath before going to the couch too. "What's up?" James asks.
"Remember when you guys stayed at mimi's house a few weeks ago?" They both nod. "Well, Chris asked me to go out to dinner-" James jumped up. "Are you in love with him now!?" I shake my head with a chuckle. "No bud, no. When we got there he asked me for full custody of you guys."
"What is full custody?" Robin asks. "That means that you guys have to live with him until you're moving out instead of living here with me." James and Robin both starts shaking their heads. "No! I'm staying here!" James yelled. "I don't wanna live with Chris." Robin says with his voice breaking at the end.
"But uncle Dan and I are gonna make sure that wouldn't happen, that you guys can stay here with me." They nod and jump into my arms. "It's way better here." James says with a small tear rolling down his cheek.
"Don't worry about it buddy. Uncle Daniel and I are gonna fight for the both of you." Robin curls up into my lap. "Uncle Dan is a good lawyer. Remember when we went to one of his cases?" Robin asks. "Yeah! He won!" That is new information. "You guys went to one of his cases?" They nod. "Robin's game wasn't happening and Anne was gone. So he took us with him."
My phone starts ringing, I don't know that number. "I gotta pick up the phone really quickly." They crawl out of my lap and I pick up the phone. "So you burned the envelope, that wasn't nice." A voice says that I know all too well. Chris.
"Sometimes I have to do things that aren't nice to people that aren't nice." James and Robin look at me confused. I shake my head. "I want to see the boys today. I'll be there at 3." He hangs up the phone before I could say something.
"Well, I guess Chris is coming over in an hour." James and Robin both sigh. "Uncle Dan is your lawyer right? Shouldn't he be here then?" Robin asks. "Yeah, good idea. Let's call him." I call my brother, he picks up immediately.
"It's me." He says. "Chris invited himself to my place, come here between now and 3 pm." Daniel sighs. "Son of a bitch, I'll be there in 10 minutes. DON'T SAY ANYTHING IF HE SHOWS UP EARLY WITHOUT ME!" He hangs up.
"He isn't in the best mood." James says, keeping his eyes on the tv. "Yeah, what if we go play catch outside?" James turns the tv off and follows his brother outside. I go outside too and grab a baseball glove to start playing.

"IS HE HERE YET!?" Daniel storms out of the sliding back door. "Nope." I say while throwing him a baseball. "I've been stressing on a crazy level for 10 minutes and all that you are doing is baseball? I was so worried!" He throws the baseball towards Robin who catched it beautifully.
"You even put on a suit." James says while trying to catch the ball, but sadly failed. "Yeah, I thought this was some serious shit-" Robin stopped him. "Language." He pointed at Daniel before catching the ball again.
