A blonde gulped as she gently wrote a letter to a family friend. She had practically nowhere to go and needed a safety net.

A month later, all she got was a letter saying that their living situation wasn't any better and that if they were doing better, they would take her in.

However, there was also a smaller letter from one of the kids explaining his plan of joining the rangers. He addressed a job in the organization known as Operators, which sounded appealing to her when she looked at the description.

It took time for her to try and get in. The people who had taken custody of her after the incident were strict with policies and what not. If she wanted something, it had to go by the books. If she refused to do something that went by the books, they forced her to do it. It got to the point that her mental health was struggling through the whole "By the Books" situation. They attempted therapy, but she made her point clear with the therapist.

"There's a line between desires and what's right for someone. The Policies of what I'm in are not right for me. I'm not able to do what I want and am forced into a life I don't want. Fix the system and I'll be happy."

The organization pulled her from therapy, but that didn't do shit for them since she started locking them out of her life. Stay in her room for long periods of time, refuse food and water, purposely fail the homeschooling they tried with her, and even show a cold shoulder whenever they tried to pull anything with her. It was a nuisance on their part, but that's what she wanted.

She did apply for Ranger School against their wishes. They kept saying that they wouldn't be able to provide for her when she left because "it was against the books", but she kept arguing that their books were mistakes and that she had refused all of their provided help ever since they pulled her from therapy. Were they really providing for her or were they just trying to keep up appearances?

A week later, she learned that the organization was getting shut down because their policies were against the International Police's laws. It was refreshing to be able to get out of their grip. One officer, a young kid that was labeled as an Inspector, actually got her approved for Ranger School after making a quick call and talking to the leaders. Her eyes sparkled as she read the letter.

"Thank you!"
