Ch. 17

Mina rushed home and packed a week's worth of clothes. She then informed her secretary of her sudden departure. Haru still has not texted Mina back or even called.

7 hours later, both Chaeyoung and Mina landed, Despite the long flight, Mina was more than eager to see Haru.

After driving to Haru's house, they get to the door and ring the doorbell.

"Mom! Chaeyoung has arrived!" Haru calls out as he opens the door. To his surprise, he sees Mina next to him. "Mina?" Haru questions, his eyes widening in astonishment. He had not expected her to be standing there beside Chaeyoung. Mina smiles warmly at him.

"Oh, Mina is here too!" Haru's sisters exclaimed in excitement, rushing to the door to greet her. "Hi Mina, Haru lied and said you couldn't make it. I'm Haru's sister, Nami."

Haru's sister had always looked forward to meeting Mina, she knew how much Haru had loved her. She greeted and hugged Mina right away, even though surprised Mina felt happy to be welcome.

As they all entered the house, Haru's sisters bombarded Mina with questions and stories, eager to know more about Mina. Mina laughed and listened attentively, grateful for the warm reception she had received.

Haru was stunned and did not know how to handle the situation as things with Mina were complicated. Haru's sister was aware of the tension between Mina and Haru but acted like she did not. Haru tried to maintain a composed demeanor, but inside, he was filled with anxiety about how the evening would unfold.

"Haru why are you just spacing out like that, help your girlfriend put her stuff away in your room and then come down to eat." Haru snapped out of his thoughts and forced a smile, trying to hide his unease.

"Why my room?" Haru asked.

"Well, where else? Chaeyoung is using the guest room already, plus it's okay your guys are both adults anyways, you don't have to pretend to be innocent," Haru's sister teased.

Haru reluctantly nodded and led Mina toward his room. Mina felt happy that Haru's sister was helping to ease the tension between them, She felt grateful for Haru's sister's suggestion, as it allowed her to be alone with Haru.

As they entered his room, Mina noticed how neat and organized it was. She couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort and familiarity in the space. Haru had always been meticulous about keeping his room tidy, and it reflected in the peaceful atmosphere.

"Here, I clean out this spot for you to put your things and if needed you can put some in my closet."

Mina thanked Haru for his thoughtfulness and began to unpack her belongings. As she settled into the space, Haru was about to leave.

"Haru wait.." Mina called out, her voice filled with hesitation. She looked up at Haru, her eyes searching for the right words. "I just wanted to say...I love you. Thank you for letting me stay," she finally managed to say.

Haru felt a tug at his heart as he looked into Mina's eyes. He could see the sincerity in her words and the vulnerability in her expression. "I know lov-...I know, Mina," Haru replied softly. "And you don't have to thank me for letting you stay."

Hearing Haru almost calling her "love" gave her hope. Mina hung onto Haru's hand and then leaned in to give him a gentle kiss on the cheek and then hug him. Haru's arms wrapped around her in a warm embrace, comforting her in a way words couldn't. As they held each other, Mina felt a sense of peace and belonging that she hadn't felt in a long time.

At that moment, Haru gave in as he had missed her too. He held her tightly, cherishing the feeling of her in his arms. They stood there, embracing each other.
