Itto had always noticed a peculiar classmate, no matter where they were, he had always made eye contact. It had been their routine to notice one another, he relished finding her first in a room, how her gaze lifted to his own with blatant disinterest but always a slight pink flush on cheeks rose.

He knew she was an entirely different major, because they only had one class, aaand Itto had deducted she was a buisness major–it had to be something finance because how she dressed was immaculate–because he caught a peek or two at what she was doing on her computer during their human anatomy lecture. Itto was looking right now, leaning back in his chair, and with his horned cap twisted back he slyly watched her type up an abstract for a research paper, yet he didn't know what it was about. He knew that she knew that Itto was creeping into her privacy, but she hadn't said anything for months. So a brilliant idea popped into the jock's head, he would ask her to be his study partner since the final was one week from today, but Itto didn't know how to bring that topic up. Itto had spent the entire lecture thinking about it that he hadn't noticed when she up and left once the professor quit talking. He couldn't ask her now, he had rugby practice to attend for the start of the season in... 30 minutes.

Y/N had left Itto without a backward glance. She had an impromptu break in her case for her criminal law class and had to get with her group. She kept her head high as she ran the mile from the medical building back to the library to get there in time to fix their major flaw and prevent their defendant from being deemed guilty.  Y/N was kneeling in front of the library with her shoulder bag on the ground as she gasped for breath. The door opened, releasing the cool air from the dark library. "What was the break?" Alhaithem asked squatting in front of her, "Heizou and I have been waiting since 10:00 am with all the notes and files." Y/N pulled herself together with a smile, "Something was forged in their forensic lab to make it seem like it was official evidence!" She grinned, Alhaithem's eyes widened in shock, for once not looking at her in dismissal. "With what proof to back it up?" Y/N shook her bag containing her laptop, "It's all in here, my dearest colleague."

She hadn't come into class the next day, but he had seen her in the morning at the cafe. There were circles under her pretty eyes, and she looked disheveled, but not a bad disheveled, an attractive kind of disheveled. Itto drug his eyes down her figure dressed in clothes he had never seen before, and would never believe came out of her closet. She was in a man's shirt with large sweats on, almost looking like she was close to someone to have those clothes without shopping for them. A tall, skimpy, silverish-blonde had walked up to her with a round of six coffees. Itto had to correct his skimpy comment, the guy wasn't skimpy once he saw his side profile of built arms and a broad back. She had looked pleased with him, almost as if they were celebrating something. Another guy had appeared, Itto had seen him at parties, usually with all drug addicts, and always trying to pick up a lead on their dealers. "We wouldn't have won that case without those forged forensic blood tests, Y/N!" Heizou was his name. He slung an arm around her neck, pulling her down to ruffle her already frizzy hair. She was tall, even without the heels she usually wore. But besides that, her name was Y/N...

Itto had already received his small foreign tea and figured to just breeze past, and catch her eye. "I'm sooo grateful for forensic minors!" Heizou cheered. Y/N was studying to be a criminal attorney with a minor in forensics science. Itto heard his buddies nearby so he drifted off to them, but his attention kept drifting off to Y/N, sitting alone, sipping on coffee with an empty Word Doc in front of her. "I'll talk to you guys later." His friends jeered him, teasing Itto for leaving them in ridiculous company.

Itto pulled out the seat beside hers, and plopped down, startling her. "I barely learned your name, and it turns out you're a criminal law major! Why are you in a human anatomy class?" Y/N pushed up her glasses, he didn't know she wore those. "Are you a stalker?" Y/N bit out, with a raised brow. Itto's face flushed, "Uh- no! No not at all I just overheard that!" "So you're just an eavesdropper." Her words were laced with sarcasm, and he just picked up on it once her lips curved upward. "Gosh, you're a tease! I didn't think you'd be funny when I always see you so serious!" A bubble of laughter left her lips leaving him mesmerized by her brightened features. "I just take the classes for my actual major, creative literature, I'm a writer just wanting to explore and make a living while doing so." Itto leaned forward, "You write books? What have you written? I'm no reader but I bet it's amaaaazing!" His white hair covered his face a bit when he leaned over, and Y/N reached out to push it back. Her hair was an entirely different style, it was always sleeked back or in the prettiest braids and buns. Itto smiled up at her, "What are you writing? C'monnn you gotta let me see it now." He had pushed out his bottom lip a tad to make it look like he was pleading like a toddler.

Y/N chuckled, "I have short stories you could read." Twisting around her, Itto saw her full name and major on the title page. "You should email them to me so I can read 'em." The corners of her eyes crinkled when she smiled, "Really? I didn't know, Arataki Itto had an affinity for literature?" Y/N teased, Itto cackled, "I don't, but, I believe yours will give me a reason to have interest."  His features softened as he watched her take back her computer.

"Tell me about yourself, Arataki Itto," Y/N murmured leaning forward, acting as if what they were going to begin speaking about was secret. Itto tapped his chin and leaned forward too, "I'm on the rugby team?" Y/N shook her head. "Tell me something nobody here knows," she whispered her eyes meeting his gaze once again. He could feel himself drifting in time as he fell into the depths of her pupils. "I think I have an affinity for your eyes."
