Jayla's POV

"I'm feeling a little bit bored, babe." Izzie told me as she played with my hair, pretending to be a hairdresser. "Okay, where do you want to go?" I asked her, "Well, there's a really beautiful waterfall nearby that I saw near our house, and I was thinking about..."

"No."

"Why, babe? What's so wrong about visiting a waterfall?" she asked me, "There's a red moon out and you know it's dangerous." I replied, "Yeah, you are right, but it could be fun." Izzie said, slowly convincing me to follow her idea. I then sighed, "Fine, let's go. You convinced me." I told her.

Izzie then finally stopped playing with my hair as she placed a kiss against my cheek with happiness and she grabbed my hands, pulling me up from the sofa. "Get your best swimwear on. Make sure it's the white one too." Izzie instructed me, before I nodded and went upstairs, quickly changing into my white swimwear and came back downstairs to follow Izzie, letting her lead me to the waterfall that she was talking about.

"Izzie..." I went to say, before I watched her undress, revealing her black bikini. She then stepped into the water without hesitation, going further in. She squealed a little due to the cold, and that was when she took a large deep breath and went under the water for a couple of seconds before going back up. And this was why she was my girlfriend. She was stunning and so cheeky...

"Come into the water with me, please?" she then asked me to join her, but something about this waterfall seemed very off to me, as if we were in someone's property since there was a large castle on the top of a hill that was looking down at this waterfall.

"It's not safe, Izzie. Stop being dumb and get out before something bad happens." I ended up saying to her.

"Nothing bad is going to happen, babe..." Izzie tried to reassure me, putting her hand out for me to take. I was very hesitant.

"Then..." I went to speak again until I watched a vampire rise from the water behind Izzie. But, she didn't know as she moved towards me, only to be grabbed by the vampire. Instead of helping her in this situation...

I ran.

All I heard was my own rapid heartbeat and Izzie screaming out for me. Tears began to flood my vision as I was horrified at what I witnessed. Izzie...

I ran back to our house, slamming the door behind me and locked it three times due to panic. Yes, we prepared for this type of situation. Guilt then immediately struck me, causing me to break down completely, grieving for Izzie.

She was dead...

Eaten alive...

It should have been me.
