Jayla's POV

We were all laid down on the bed, until my stomach growled. "Do you want me to get something for you, babe?" Izzie asked me softly, trailing her fingers down my arm. "I think she's capable of looking after herself, Izzie." Mora then told her, which made me smile at that. I then got up from  the bed and wrapped a warm blanket around my body, tying a knot at the top and went out of the bedroom, headed for downstairs until I was hearing some soft giggling from the living room.

I decided to check the 'giggling' out, opening the door and saw June with her two mates. "How..." I found myself quietly saying out loud, which made them turn around, stopping what they were doing. Then, I felt Mora come up behind me. Oh shit...

"What's this?" she asked them, getting in front of me to interrogate. "I know you did some dark magic on her. Undo it. Give us our June back." one of the dark haired women replied, causing Mora to lightly growl. I decided to take a couple of steps back before I turned and left to go to the kitchen, hoping that nothing crazy was going to happen until it did.

"June, clean up this mess."

"Yes, Mora."

Suddenly, there was strong odour that went up my nostrils, causing me to cough over the meal that I was making. "Nobody threatens me and gets away with it." I then heard Mora say as I heard her bare footsteps walk away from the living room, expecting her to check on me but she went back upstairs.

Mora killed them...

Was it self defence or hatred?

A few minutes later, I finished re-making my meal and walked out of the kitchen, then past the living room where I saw June cleaning up the ash-y remains of her two mates. June looked up to see me for a couple of seconds, before she continued the clean up. I kept a straight face though, even though on the inside, I was almost ripping out my own heart.

I went into the bedroom and sat down on the edge of the bed, listening to the shower running. All of a sudden, I wasn't even hungry anymore. I just felt sick, but I ended up eating my meal anyway.

"What happened down there, babe?" Izzie asked me, "All I know is that Mora came up covered in what appears to be ash...-"

"June had visitors. Her two mates. One of her mates ordered Mora to give June back, then the next thing I smelt, it was death. I want us to leave here as soon as possible." I told Izzie the full truth.

"Okay. Let's leave this place, then. Return to our real home." Izzie agreed with me, as she had the same idea too about leaving. She then grabbed my hand and leaned forward, placing her lips against mine and somehow, we were back in our home that we bought with our own money and savings.

Nothing was touched, everything was still there. Just as I left it...

"Let's lock everything, babe. So when she comes, she wouldn't be able to get in." she told me. "I was planning on doing that anyway." I told her back, before I locked every window and the two doors.

"Now, we wait."

"Wait for what?"

"She only goes out on blood moons."

"Izzie. Don't play with me."

"I'm being serious, she told me herself."

I froze on the spot,  staring at Izzie. She was actually being serious with me. "Well, we are both fucking doomed." I then said.
