Following their trail was simple, they were so heavy footed that I could follow without looking down to see if we lost their tracks, after a few miles the terrain changed from muddy grass and earth, to hard stone and rock. At this point it was Gandalf's turn to find them, after more walking, the path got so narrow that we were walking on ledges. When we reached a spot that gave us more footing we found a cave, it was empty but it smelled of dwarf. So I knew they were here. "Aaralyn." I looked to where Gandalf was crouched, he had something shiny in his hand.

When I got to him he handed me my Evenstar. "no! Thorin!" I spun around and looked for something anything that would help me find him and the other. "Aaralyn, look." I turned back to the wizard, he was on his knees again. I bent down with him and he moved some sand to find a split in the ground. Following the split, and it reached wall to wall, Gandalf and I needed to get in there, so Iooking at Gandalf I said "on three we'll jump and try to push it open." He shook his head "no I have a better idea, you will go this way and I will come in another, so that if one of them was to get lost we would fine them and meet up in one place eventually." I nodded and he left the little cave.

I continued to look for a soft spot, and when I couldn't, something started to creak, and then I was able to get in. but not the way I wanted. Soon I was falling and rolling and crashing into the stone walls and then a small free fall before I landed on a wooden plate form. Rolling over onto my stomach I almost came face to face with an ugly goblin. And behind him were more and they were coming fast. Soon I was surrounded, and being touched and pushed and poked. After about ten minutes I came to a larger room, it looked like a defiled version of a throne room.

It even came with an enormously hideous goblin king, with an elongated chin, a disgustingly huge stomach and a crown of bones his right leg was deformed and he needed to step on his minions to get on and off his throne, crushing most of them with his obese weight as he did. Looking around I found my dwarves, all their backs were to me, it looks like they had just arrived themselves, which means that when Gandalf and I showed up we had just missed them. "Thorin!" I shout whispered he turned and when he saw me he smiled and I tried to shake off my goblin guards but they wouldn't let go and soon I was being pushed to the front.

"who would be so bold as to come armed into my kingdom?" the Goblin King said spewing spit and jiggling his chin and belly fat, making gag, "SPIES? THIEVES? ASSASSINS?"  the goblin king's voice cracked on the last one, then the goblin that held my arm spoke, "Dwarves, Your Malevolence, and a beautiful Elf." He tightened his hold and I gasped. "dwarves? And an elf?" the creature nodded and pulled me with him, "we found them on the Front Porch." "well don't just stand there. Search them. Every crack, every crevice, and give me the she-elf." As I was pulled away the dwarves had everything taken and thrown into a pile.

Looking for Thorin I didn't notice the goblin king until he grabbed me around the waist, and held me like a doll. Looking away from the dwarves to him I glared and tried to get out of his gross sweaty hand. "what are you doing in these parts?" the looked to me I slowly shook my  head and they didn't speak, "very well, if they will not talk, we'll make them squawk, bring up the mangler. Bring up the bonebreaker, and we'll start with the elf." "WAIT!" Thorin shouted, the dwarves moved and so did the goblins, "no Thorin don't." I said looking at him, suddenly the king squeezed his hand and I felt things crack.

"ah!" I couldn't help gasping out in pain, "well, well, well. Look who it is. Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror, King Under the Mountain." The goblin king said bowing mockingly. "oh, but I'm forgetting. You don't have a mountain. And you're not a king, which makes you nobody, really." Lashing out I kicked the goblin king in the face, he shouted and squeezed his hand again only this time he meant to really hurt me, "Ahh!" Thorin moved a step but the goblin king held me up higher than Thorin could reach. "I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head. Just a head, nothing attached." The goblin king smirked and I tried to attack him again, but he gave up on holding me and threw me to the ground. I landed at Thorin's feet and he knelt down and cradled my body to his chest, but I was in my elf form and much too large for him, so he ended up holding my shoulders. As my head rested on his shoulder.

Straightening up the goblin king smiled crooked showing broken rotten teeth, "perhaps you know of whom I speak. An old enemy of yours. A Pale Orc, astride a White Warg." Emphasizing the word Warg, and mocking Thorin with this information, "Azog the defiler was destroyed. He was slain in battle long ago." Thorin squeezed my shoulder in anger I held his forearm and tried not to scream in pain. "so you think his defiling days are done, do you?" the goblin king mocked, chuckling, then he turned to a deformed gremlin on a zip line and said "send word to the Pale Orc. Tell him I have found his prize."

Still on the ground, I cupped Thorin's face, pulling it so that he would look at me, "hey, hey," when he didn't look at me I started to panic, "Thorin? Thorin, please look at me." finally looking at me I smiled, his mouth pulled into a tight lipped smile, probably as a way to make me feel better, "how are you feeling?" he asked, I shrugged trying not to move sore parts of my body. "I've been through worse, oh! I just remembered." Reaching into my inner tunic pocket I grabbed my necklace and held it out to him. "you dropped this." His free hand flew to his neck then he smiled "thank you for finding it, for finding us, though I'm sorry you were hurt." I shook my head and re-clipped the necklace around his neck. Then with my hand still on his face I pulled myself up to kiss him.

"Aww! A dwarf and an elf! Too bad you won't be alive much longer." Then the goblins started to sing, I asked Thorin to help me up, standing hurt but I needed to get off the floor.

Bones will be shattered,

Necks will be wrung,

You'll be beaten and battered,

From rack you'll be hung,

You will die down here,

and never be found,

Down in the deep of Goblin-town,

As the monsters sang the one that grabbed me was playing with Thorin's sword and when he opened it he screeched and threw it away from himself, the goblin king cried out and jumped up onto his throne, shouting "I know that sword! It is the Goblin-cleaver! The Biter! The blade that sliced a 1000 necks! Slash them! Beat them! Kill them!" pushing away the goblins I ran to Ocrist and unsheathed him, brandishing it, in front of me. when they saw me with it they moved out of my way and I ran to where they were whipping Thorin, I cut down any that tried to touch him.

But there was just too many even for my elf form, I was grabbed and pushed to my knees and one of them  back handed me, I fell to my side and they held me down, and while Thorin tried to help me he was jumped and pinned down as well, then the goblin king said the one thing that made my heart jump in fear, "Cut off his head!" a goblin moved to stand over Thorin he held a long jagged dagger, readying himself to remove the dwarf prince's head, I struggled all the more freeing one of arms I reached out to him "Thorin!" I could feel tears running down my face.
